Tadcaster is a historical market town conveniently located between the North Yorkshire Moors and the Yorkshire Dales. Beautiful walks, cycling, climbing, fishing, boating, golfing, or just sitting and taking in the scenery are just a few of the outdoor activities that can be enjoyed by those who love the great outdoors along the banks of the River Wharfe. The world-famous beers brewed at the three breweries located in Tadcaster are widely consumed because of the high quality of the water used in their production. John Smith's is one of the oldest breweries in the United Kingdom, having opened in 1758; visitors can take a popular and informative tour of the facility on a regular basis. Harrogate, with its spa facilities, is not far away, and neither are the historic cathedral cities of Ripon and York. Likewise accessible are the great stately homes of Castle Howard and Harewood House, the Cistercian Abbeys of Fountains, Rievaulx, and Jervaulx, and the castles of Middleham, Bolton, and Richmond.

No mention of this anywhere. We where going out to use the hot tub and people where being shown the back of the house Whilst we were there. Also people looking through the windows and even waving. Totally unacceptable. No mention at all of this. Would not go back or recommend due to this. It was quite a lot through the Saturday and Sunday too. Also the kitchen equipment is basic and not enough glasses, pans, ovenwear etc. even had to ask for a cork screw. Dishwasher doesn’t work which we also weren’t told about until we go there, there was 15 of us staying so this was a problem. The water pressure on the top floor is so bad you can’t take a shower so people who stayed on that floor had to come down stairs to use the showers. This was a lot of money and we did have a lovely weekend due to family get together but not due to the house. Lovely surroundings but would not stay here again due to lack of privacy and facilities.
