A lovely holiday rental in a fabulous location in Helmsley. Three en-suite bedrooms (1 king, 1 double, and 1 twin), so useful for couples or a family. There are plenty of cafes and restaurants within walking distance, which was just as well, as the kitchen area is quite small and storage space for food (non-fridge goods) is limited. The house is generally well-equipped. A fan in every room was a boon, as the heatwave was still in force. I think the frying pan and wok are coming to the end of their useful lives as they were scratched and losing their non-stick surface, but that was a minor issue, as we weren't cooking anything. The small garden area was utterly delightful and the perfect place to have breakfast, a morning coffee, or an evening glass of wine. The security gates made us feel very secure.

The cottage is in a beautiful location with so many places to visit for adults and children alike. We had a fabulous holiday with our grandchildren: going for long walks and visiting York and Knaresborough amongst other places. The cottage was comfortable and parking was easy. We had 2 cars so one parked outside on the street or in a visitor space.

A lovely place to stay - super location!A holiday cottage that really has everything you would need as a base to explore Helmsley and beyond. It's just a stones' throw to the church and an easy walk to the shops/cafes. Plenty of free parking nearby on local streets if more than 1 car. Excellent little outdoor space for a drink too. It's a new home so everything works nicely - although do plan ahead with the underfloor heating as it might take a little while to warm through. Each bedroom has its own en-suite and TV so there'll be no arguments! As with every holiday home there are the usual small gripes (lack of bins, not the kitchen utensil you were looking for, would be nice for a couple more dishwasher tablets etc), but if you plan ahead a little then it's not really an issue at all. The kind welcome gift also goes a long way to settle you in.Would definitely stay again.
