Guests say

Brookleigh is a well-loved cottage praised for its superb location and picturesque views. Guests appreciate the comfortable beds, homely feel, and the large garden. The village charm and proximity to local attractions make it a desirable stay. While some guests mention areas for improvement, the overall sentiment is positive with many looking forward to returning.

Guests that stayed at this property said

The cottage received mixed feedback on cleanliness. Some guests found it clean and homely, while others noted dust, dirt, and mould in places. The presence of bird droppings on a window sill was mentioned more than once, suggesting a need for more thorough cleaning.

The location is highly praised for its beauty and convenience, offering fantastic views and a peaceful setting. The proximity to a village pub, cafes, and the North York Moors makes it an ideal spot for guests seeking both relaxation and exploration.

Guests find the cottage comfortable, noting the cosy beds and the warmth provided by the open fire. However, some guests mentioned that the cottage could be warmer and that some of the furniture and bedding could be updated for enhanced comfort.

The cottage is well-equipped with books, toys, and a large garden. However, guests have reported maintenance issues such as slippery paving stones, insufficient lighting, and a need for redecoration. The distinction between bathrooms and a separate WC was also a point of contention.

Several guests were delighted by thoughtful touches like a welcoming tray with cake and the provision of Netflix. However, it should be noted that such gifts are not guaranteed and may vary with each stay.

A lovely cottage in a peaceful location, ideal for walking & exploring the area. It was lovely to be back after a 5 year break. We did miss some of the little touches of previous visits which were so welcoming ( like the flowers and the fire being laid) and felt the cottage was in need of a little TLC and spring clean. A hairdryer & oven gloves would be useful. Otherwise we were very lucky with the weather and enjoyed our stay. Thank you.
