Guests say

Sunny Cottage in York is a well-received holiday rental with guests praising its cleanliness, comfortable amenities, and excellent location. The property is equipped for a relaxing stay, featuring a private garden and proximity to local attractions. While some maintenance issues are noted, the overall experience is positive, with the cottage's charm and thoughtfulness of the owners being highlighted.

The cottage is consistently described as clean and comfortable, with no evidence of pets despite allowing them. High standards of cleanliness are mentioned, contributing to a relaxing stay.

The location is praised for being quiet and secluded, with a pub and cafe nearby. It serves as a great base for exploring North Yorkshire, with easy access to York and other attractions.

Comfort is generally well-regarded, with a cosy and homely feel. However, there are comments about a mattress needing replacement and a suggestion for a grab handle, indicating some room for improvement.

Facilities are deemed adequate with a well-equipped kitchen and good broadband/TV. However, there are issues with a non-functioning radiator and no car charge point, suggesting some maintenance is required.

While the reviews reflect a positive experience and mention the provision of tea and milk on arrival, there is no consistent mention of gifts or additional thoughtful touches to accurately score this category.

On arrival the property was very cold and the sitting room smelt of damp. The downstairs shower room radiator did not function making it impossible to use the shower. Looking back at other comments it appears to be an ongoing issue which needs fixing.I am partially disabled which prevents me from getting in and out of a bath easily, this made my stay difficult. The double bed also needs the mattress replacing it has a large dip on the left side looking up to the headboard. This is clearly visible. Again making sleeping very uncomfortable. These 2 issues I feel let down what otherwise is a pleasant. property
