The cottage is only a few miles from the bustling seaside town of Stonehaven: the wonderful open air Olympic sized heated swimming pool, open in the summer, attracts many visitors and the bustling harbour is a great place for a meal or drink overlooking the comings and goings. Wander around the interesting shops, or try a round at the local 18-hole golf course. The nearby Dunnottar Castle, sitting on the rugged coastline, is well worth a visit, and if you are here at New Year, you should not miss the Fireballs, a spectacular display where locals swing flaming spheres through the harbour to ward off evil spirits before throwing them in the sea. The cosmopolitan city of Aberdeen is a mere 15-minute drive, with a multitude of activities and attractions. Inland, visit the scenic Royal Deeside valley with picturesque towns and villages and the many castles including Balmoral. Further afield you’ll find ‘The Whisky Trail’ with centuries-old distilleries across the region or enjoy family days out with superb walks, cycle routes and clean sandy beaches.

An excellent property in lovely surroundings, very peaceful and quiet. Well equipped with everything you need. A lovely welcome basket and milk in the fridge. Ron and Alison very helpful and welcoming. Our second stay here and hope to return.

Well positioned between Deeside and the coast. Very roomy and potentially sun-drenched. Situated in farming country so does require driving (or cycling) to nearby shops / pubs / restaurants etc but quiet and drive time to Stonehaven is about ten minutes.

It was perfect. The hosts were splendid. Nothing to improve upon here. Can't wait to revisit!
