The cosy property features a bright, well-appointed kitchen with views over the private garden—ideal for pets and children—and a comfortable lounge complete with an open fire, perfect for relaxing after a day out. Two twin bedrooms provide restful accommodation, and guests are invited to explore the estate’s 200 acres, including the famous Blue Door Walk through the dramatic Gannochy Gorge. Pet-friendly and surrounded by nature, it’s a serene and comfortable base for couples, families, or friends. The Burn estate is a haven for those who love the outdoors. Guests have access within the estate to the River North Esk, one of Scotland’s premier salmon rivers, with a fishing license included. You can enjoy croquet, tennis, a putting green, and a relaxed drink at the mansion house’s bar, all just a stroll away. Dozens of scenic walking and cycling paths weave through ancient woodlands rich in wildlife—from red squirrels to otters and even golden eagles.
Just a mile from the estate lies the picturesque village of Edzell, home to traditional pubs, charming tearooms, and the 16th-century Edzell Castle with its tranquil walled gardens. Keen hikers can head for Mount Keen, the most easterly Munro, while golfers are spoilt for choice: Edzell Golf Club is nearby, and championship courses like Carnoustie and Montrose are within easy reach. To the east, explore the dramatic cliffs, fishing villages, and sandy beaches at St Cyrus, Lunan Bay and Montrose. History lovers will enjoy Glamis Castle, the House of Dun, and the Glenesk Folk Museum, while families can spend fun-filled days at Brechin Castle Centre. For a more refined experience, try tastings at the nearby Arbikie Distillery. With something for everyone, North Lodge offers the perfect base for discovering the heart of Angus.

Lovely setting and good & clean living/ sleeping areas. Only problem was limited kitchen cooking equipment and erroneous information that there was a dishwasher which there is not.
