Hilibre is a stunning lodge sitting in an elevated position in the village of Strachur, overlooking the beautiful Loch Fyne in Argyll. The lodge boasts its own private hot tub with stunning views over the loch. Strachur has a shop/post office /café just across the road, and the pub is a short walk along the beach if the tide is right, if not you can go along the road, it’s just minutes away. It is a fantastic base for exploring all that Argyll has to offer and is a pathway to the great outdoors, views that are breath taking, wildlife on the doorstep, fishing, paddle boarding, kayaking, hikes and great wild swimming spots all just across the road from the house. It really is the perfect place to unwind and relax after a hard day exploring on an activity filled holiday.
The surrounding area is known as Argyll’s Secret Coast with its sparkling sea lochs, romantic ruins, ancient forests, and stunning scenery. This coastal route takes you through some of the most stunning parts of Argyll’s Secret Coast; a magical undiscovered corner of Cowal. A number of public gardens are located in the area, such as Ardkinglas, Crarae and Benmore Botanic Gardens with its avenue of giant redwood trees. There are three golf courses available locally and many opportunities for a spot of fishing. At Colintraive there is a short ferry crossing over to the picturesque Isle of Bute and a visit to the fabulous Victorian Gothic Mount Stuart House is a must. Inveraray is also a great day out with the castle, the ancestral home of the Duke of Argyll and the 19th century Inveraray jail, both well worth a visit. The town of Dunoon is approximately 20 minutes and offers a good centre for shopping, leisure facilities and a small cinema. The Argyll Forest, part of the simply gorgeous Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park is on the doorstep and has numerous forest tracks, marked walks, cycle ways and wonderful waterfalls to explore.

Great house in quiet location with a view of Loch Fyne. Views from every room at the front of the house are outstanding. Everything you need to have a home from home holiday. Kitchen is fully equipped including an air frier. Separate room with washing machine and tumble drier. Hot tub located at the side of the house with privacy screening. Very nice pub/restaurant 30 minute walk away. Food was amazing. For anyone taking their dog, the garden is not enclosed. It’s worth noting the en suite is within the twin bedroom and contains the only shower. The main bathroom has a jacuzzi bath.

100% recommend. Lovely property, spacious and comfortable with everything you need and more. The kitchen is equipped in all modern appliances, lovely outdoor area with seating to enjoy coffe with a view of the loch.Hot tub too has amazing views allowing you to enjoy the sunset over the water. There was 6 of us in the property over a weekend and we couldnt be happier - nothing was lacking. It felt like home and we would love to be back some day!
