Guests say

Am Bruadar cottage in Dalmally offers a cosy and comfortable stay, ideal for large groups and families. Guests appreciate its great location for hill walking and exploring the Highlands and Islands, with convenient access to shops and fuel. The property is well-equipped for both short breaks and longer stays, featuring a log burner and spacious rooms. While some guests mention issues with mattress comfort and cleanliness in certain areas, the overall experience is positive, with many expressing a desire to return.

The property generally provides a pleasant environment, though some guests noted the presence of mould in shower areas and suggested that door handles could benefit from a thorough cleaning. These issues seem to be isolated rather than indicative of overall standards.

The cottage is highly praised for its location, offering easy access to Munros, the Highlands, and nearby towns like Oban and Inveraray. Its proximity to a shop, fuel, and the station adds to its convenience, making it an excellent base for exploring the surrounding areas.

While the house is described as cosy and warm, with a log burner adding to the ambience, several guests reported that the beds were uncomfortable. The suggestion of adding mattress toppers indicates room for improvement in this area.

The property is well-equipped for guests, with a good kitchen and necessary amenities. However, minor issues such as insufficient cafetieres for a large group and difficulty adjusting room temperatures were mentioned, indicating some areas for maintenance attention.

While guests have mentioned complimentary items, there is a specific complaint about out-of-date milk packets, which suggests that while the intention to provide gifts is present, the execution requires attention. As gifts are not consistently referenced, it is not possible to accurately score this category.

Loch Awe is Scotland longest freshwater loch and has superb fishing, enchanted islands, and deserted castles to explore. Loch Awe has a number of beautiful attractions to visit including the stunning Kilchurn Castle, St Conan’s Kirk and Cruachan Visitor Centre, all within a 5 minutes’ drive.
Nature lovers will be spoilt for choice with many Nature and Forestry reserves offering walking and cycling routes, all available locally. This part of Argyll has miles of unspoilt countryside with fantastic mountain, woodland, and coastal walks to enjoy. With Oban, the Gateway to the Isles and Inveraray, the home of the Duke of Argyll, both just a 30 minutes’ drive, there is plenty to explore. Oban gives you access supermarkets, ferry terminal, shops, cafes, restaurants and has a cinema, leisure centre and Oban whisky distillery. Glasgow Airport and the cities of the central belt are within reasonably easy reach.
