Riverside is a clean, spacious cottage with comfy beds and a large garden, located near Oban. Guests appreciate the warm welcome and thoughtful touches, though some mention the need for better maintenance and amenities. The peaceful setting and proximity to Loch Melfort are highlights, despite the village's limited services.
The property is consistently described as clean and immaculate, indicating high standards of cleanliness that guests appreciate.
The location is appreciated for its proximity to Oban and beautiful Loch Melfort. However, the lack of village amenities and the misleading description of local services slightly affect the score.
Guests find the beds comfortable and the living areas cosy. Some issues with temperature control and mattress comfort are noted, but overall, the property provides a comfortable stay.
The property is well-equipped, but there are several mentions of maintenance issues such as water leaks, inadequate heating, and poor TV reception. The kitchen size is also a concern for larger groups.
While guests mention welcome treats and packages, there is not enough information to assess the consistency of these gestures across all stays. Therefore, it is politely noted that such thoughtful touches, while appreciated, are not guaranteed.
Riverside is surrounded by beautiful scenery and nearby you will find museums, galleries, castles and activities to keep the family entertained..

We spent Christmas at Riverside and felt so at home. The garden was perfect for the dogs, the fireplace was so cosy. The whole stay was perfect apart from being unable to unlock the doors leading out to the garden from the downstairs bedroom. I did sleep with the windows open as you are not allowed to adjust the settings on the storage heaters and it did get very hot. We were welcomed with a bottle of prosecco, a box of chocolates and a pack of locally roasted coffee, all of which was a lovely touch. Can I suggest that some basics like tea and sugar be left for arriving guests as it's not a quick drive to the nearest shops. The views of the surrounding mountains and the river running alongside the house is just so special. All in all, a fabulous stay and we cannot wait to come back.

We had a lovely break at Riverside to visit my sister locally. It was clean, spacious, lovely, and warm, and the beds were so comfy. Very kind treats too when we arrived, which we enjoyed so much, thank you. I would highly recommend this cottage, and we will be back to stay. I've also recommended it to my sister, who has recently moved to Kames for her friends and our family stays. Just a shame we had to leave early to avoid Storm Amy!

Although the house was nice inside, the exterior was shabby. It also lacked bedside lamps in any of the rooms. The description of the village was very misleading as the shop had obviously been closed for some time and the pub no longer does meals.
