The perfect place to relax and unwind. Our second visit to Little Egret, earlier in the season this time which meant gardens and countryside were bursting with vibrant colours, beautiful. Farmers were busy in the fields which gave us a spectacular view of the graceful Red Kites above them watching for their next meal. We were blessed with good weather, perfect for us and our two Spaniels. Ailsa has created a very practical, clean, comfortable, and welcoming home from home for her guests and their furry companions. There is everything you could possibly need in the kitchen for a self catering holiday and comprehensive instructions in a file for using the appliances, a bonus in our book when items may be unfamiliar. A huge comfy bed for a restful sleep, a brilliant walk in shower with fluffy towels and crystal clear windows to enjoy the ever changing view of the sea at the front or the beautifully planted garden wall from the kitchen window. There is even a dedicated off road parking spot, perfect. The Steamboat Inn a few doors away is an added bonus....no driving after an evening meal out. The close proximity to the beach is ideal for anyone like us with dogs. We found heading to the right along the beach an easier walk, especially with two Spaniels who have an affinity to water. I arranged a visit to Ailsa's art studio this time. I'm so pleased I did, her art work is amazing. Little Egret is the perfect base for wider exploration of this fabulous part of Scotland. the walk from Kippford to Rockcliffe is well signposted. We would recommend sturdy, comfy shoes for this walk. Walking from Rockcliffe to Kippford wasn't as well signposted. Thank you Ailsa, Alan and Inky for another wonderful holiday and the much appreciated welcome pack for us and the dogs. Already looking at a return visit next year.

Beautiful place to stay. Very comfortable and accommodation has everything you need for a relaxing stay. Great safe gardens both back, front and beach garden for my dogs. This is my second time and it didn't disappoint apart from the weather! There is so much to do in and around Carsethorn and my two dogs had a ball on the beaches and various woodland walks. Very friendly village with fabby restaurant/pub just a few meters along the road. Would highly recommend the Little Egret and the owners Ailsa and Alan are very welcoming. Will definitely be back.
