Guests say

Bankswood Cottage is praised for its beautiful location, spacious kitchen, and cosy lounge. Guests enjoy the peaceful surroundings, comfortable beds, and modern equipment. The garden is appreciated for its safety and views, and the property is well-equipped for a relaxing stay. Some minor maintenance issues are noted, but overall, the cottage is highly recommended for a tranquil getaway.

The cottage is generally clean, with some guests noting it as 'on the whole clean'. However, there are mentions of a need for a deeper clean and dust under the beds, indicating room for improvement in cleanliness.

The location is highly regarded for its beauty, tranquillity, and proximity to local attractions such as castles, wetlands, and nature reserves. It is described as peaceful and perfect for those who enjoy quiet surroundings.

Guests find the cottage comfortable, with warm and cosy lounges, comfortable beds, and a welcoming wood-burning stove. The presence of two living areas with TVs adds to the comfort level.

The cottage is well-equipped with modern appliances and abundant supplies. However, there are several mentions of maintenance issues such as loose toilet seats, wet bathroom floors, and a difficult-to-open patio door, which suggest that facilities could be better maintained.

While the reviews reflect a well-equipped cottage with ample supplies, there is no mention of gifts or special touches that would indicate thoughtfulness from the host. Therefore, a score cannot be provided for this category.

We had a lovely time spending new year together and my 60th birthday holiday. The area is beautiful and the local castle and wetlands are worth a walk round. Short drive to Dumfries. The cottage was lovely a good size and the kitchen dining area was perfect, lounge was warm and cosy, the bedrooms were well furnished. We found the shower room was a bit sad and damp and the toilet seats were both loose. Other than that it was great
