Chatelherault is a well-received cottage in a peaceful village, praised for its cleanliness, tranquil location, and well-equipped kitchen. Guests appreciate the spaciousness, garden, and thoughtful touches, though some noted the furniture could be updated for added comfort. It's an ideal base for sightseeing, walking, and enjoying the local area.
The cottage is generally described as clean and tidy, with several guests highlighting its spotlessness. However, a few minor cleanliness issues were mentioned, such as a musty odour upon entry and some dust and hairs found in the bathroom.
The location is highly praised for its tranquillity and proximity to local walks and sightseeing. The village's peacefulness and the surrounding area's beauty are consistently noted as positives.
Comfort receives mixed reviews. While the cottage is often described as cosy and homely, some guests found the furniture, particularly the sofas and beds, to be less comfortable or too firm for their preference.
Facilities are generally well-regarded, with a well-equipped kitchen and good heating system. However, some guests suggested updates to furniture and the addition of privacy blinds. The lack of a dishwasher was noted, and some maintenance issues like oven cleanliness and bathroom plumbing were mentioned.
Guests mentioned thoughtful touches such as a lovely coffee maker and blankets for the sofa. While wine was provided, the absence of milk was noted, and it's politely stated that such gifts are appreciated but not guaranteed.

The property had everything we needed, very well equipped. A small lovely quiet village with lots of lovely walks & drives nearby. Powfoot being out favourite especially with the weather being so nice. Another visit here is definitely on our list.

the shower step made it impossible for my wife to havce a shower.
Jane
The property was perfect for us being single story, with a walk-in shower and a choice of double or twin rooms. All rooms are spacious and comfortable, although the dining table being in the side conservatory feels slightly less comfortable. However weâre on holiday and itâs a very minor issue as is the tuneful bathroom plumbing! We found the village to be extremely peaceful surrounded by beautiful countryside and places to explore. We also ventured further afield on a couple of days with easy access via Annan to the motorway north.
