There were 8 of us, and we all enjoyed such a large property and gardens. The kitchen was very well equipped and the aga was easy to use and kept the whole house warm. The house is situated very close to the mountains, and road links made it possible to get to the coast and the mull of Galloway. This is the sort of property we would all love to own with its victorian charm. Also close to supermarkets and takeaways.

A huge house that gave our family plenty of space and would happily have accommodated more. Kirkdale gave us a holiday of comfortable modern living amongst beautiful period furniture. There is a clean and well provisioned kitchen for cooking and baking. The aga was a warm comforting welcome and 2 fridges helped. The views of the gorgeous garden & neighbouring fields were very calming. Communication was clear from friendly, helpful hosts and entry to the property was straightforward. Recommended local trips would be Bainloch Deer Park and Threave Castle. The Tesco express 10 mins away was very useful. We had an amazing time at Kirkdale and would definitely recommend
