Driftwood in Kippford is highly praised for its spaciousness, stylish decor, and beautiful location. Guests appreciate the property's suitability for families and pets, the quality of the furnishings, and the stunning views. Some minor issues with cleanliness and ongoing construction were noted, but these did not significantly detract from the overall positive experiences.
Most guests found Driftwood to be clean and well-maintained, though there was a singular mention of the property not being completely clean. This appears to be an isolated incident rather than a common concern.
The location is consistently lauded for its convenience, stunning views, and proximity to local amenities and scenic walks. The ongoing construction nearby was a slight concern for some, but it did not majorly impact the guests' enjoyment.
Guests were very satisfied with the comfort provided by Driftwood, mentioning super comfy beds, spacious rooms, and a lift for accessibility. The property seems to cater well to various needs, contributing to a relaxing stay.
The facilities at Driftwood are highly regarded, with top-quality appliances and a well-equipped kitchen. Some minor issues were reported, such as a problem with hot water and fencing not being completely secure for small dogs, but these were not widespread concerns.
While guests have mentioned welcome gifts and the attentiveness of the owner, there is not enough consistent information about thoughtfulness-related amenities to provide a score. It should be noted that such gifts are a kind gesture and not guaranteed.

We had a fantastic stay at Driftwood for our New Year’s Eve celebrations. You were a wonderful host, and we especially appreciated the beautiful Christmas decorations, the fizz provided on arrival, and the chocolate reindeers for the children. So kind to arrive to such a lovely welcome. Thank you. Our party included grandparents and young children under five, and the house was perfectly equipped for everyone. It was lovely, warm, and incredibly relaxing. The property was spotless, with no dust or pet hair. We also found the beds and showers to be great, and the kitchen was excellent, featuring a coffee machine and everything else we could possibly need. The location was fantastic, offering a lovely walks over to Rockcliffe and easy access to forest trails. The views and scenery of Kippford were truly incredible. Additionally, we enjoyed the family-friendly places nearby for drinks and the convenient access to town for shopping and takeaway options. We would recommend this property 100% - we just hope it isn't fully booked so we can visit again!

We had a fabulous week staying at Driftwood. The house is lovely and has everything in it that you need to enjoy your holiday. We were lucky that the weather allowed us to enjoy the balcony which was an added bonus in espevially as it was October. Having my eldery mum wirh us, the lift was ideal and allowed her to move safely around the house. Driftwood is in a perfect spot to allow you to travel to different locations in and around the Solway Coast. The circular walk to Rockcliffe was the perfect morning walk with the dog stopping off at The Ark for a coffee and scone on the way back. Kippford also has a lovely community nature reserve which is great for a quick walk with the dog and to meet the locals for a chat. Would highly recommend a trip to Loch Arthur Farm shop both to enjoy something to eat and to stock up on the great produce available there. Best ice cream can be found at the Gelato hut at Ernespie Farm located on the outskirts of Castle Douglas. The Steamboat Inn at Carsethorn serves great food and it is a very scenic drive to get there so definitely worth a visit if staying at Driftwood. We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend the house to others wishing to holiday in Kippford or the surrounding area.
