Mullhill Cottage in Stranraer offers a peaceful retreat with stunning views, ideal for both relaxation and exploring the local area. Guests appreciate the comfortable accommodation, secure garden for dogs, and the added touches like a welcome hamper. While some minor issues with facilities and cleanliness were mentioned, the overall experience is highly regarded, with many planning return visits.

Most guests found the cottage to be clean and tidy, with only one mention of cleanliness not being quite as good as a previous stay. This suggests that the property is generally well-maintained, although there may be occasional lapses.

The location is consistently praised for its stunning views, peacefulness, and proximity to local attractions such as beaches and gardens. It is considered a highlight and a strong reason for guests' satisfaction.

Guests describe the property as comfortable, cosy, and well-equipped, with a special mention of comfy beds and a warm atmosphere even during inclement weather. The presence of a secure garden adds to the comfort for dog owners.

While the property is generally well-equipped, there are several mentions of issues with the Wi-Fi/TV signal, a desire for a better shower, dishwasher, and sharper knives. These comments suggest room for improvement in the facilities and maintenance.

The owner's responsiveness and the provision of a welcome hamper are noted as thoughtful gestures. However, it should be noted that such gifts, while appreciated, may not be a consistent offering for all stays.

I stayed here over Christmas and we were very lucky with the weather it was absolutely beautiful, the view from the bedroom on a morning was breathtaking. When we arrived there was a lovely hamper waiting for us the owner also made an appearance during our stay to check if we needed anything which I thought was really nice. The cottage is situated in such a lovely quiet place perfect if your wanting to unwind from city life, there is a beach just down the road the views are just amazing I would highly recommend and would definitely return here.

The reason for not giving a 5/5 on the overall score was mainly due to the garden not being secure enough for our Jack Russell cross. One whole side of garden perimeter & the whole gate was horizontal fence planking, spaced so widely apart, he could easily get out. So unfortunately, our dog was on lead the whole time. Bit of a shame, as we really liked the place otherwise. Perhaps some chicken wire fencing tacked onto lower parts of boundary, may help?? Having said that, it wouldnt deter us from staying here again, if we may?! The views, the quietness, the remote feel of the place, even though Stranraer was only 25 min drive. Along with proper central heating (not temperamental electric storage heaters), amazingly powerful shower, spacious rooms, & thoughtful food hamper, we can see why this cottage scores so highly :-)

Absolutely loved our week up at Mulhill , our second time there . Excellent property, very comfortable and the views are breathtaking. Unfortunately we cant choose our weather for the week. If we were to nitpick about anything, we'd say improve the Wifi / TV signal for bad weather days , a good book came in very handy for sitting in the conservatory. The owners are so nice and helpful, even brought us a Dvd player up so that we could watch a film or two during wet weather . I'm only nitpicking though, please don't let these comments put you off booking this property as you won't be disappointed during warm or even dry weather , so much on your doorstep to visit . It hasn't put us off booking again for next year
