Situated on the north west coast of the beautiful Rhins of Galloway peninsula, 3 miles from Stranraer, this stunning detached property, with a private hot tub, enjoys panoramic views over the rolling countryside and across Lochryan Bay. Ferries pass daily on the 90-minute crossing from Stranraer’s ferry port. Visit Dally Bay where seals and porpoises can be spotted. Walk down to the sea to the shore on Loch Ryan and around Wig Bay and The Scar – a circular walk along Loch Ryan shoreline and back into the village of Kirkcolm. The Scar, a sandbank which juts out into Loch Ryan, is home to one of the largest colonies of nesting migrant terns in the region. From a historical perspective, during the Second World War, Wig Bay was used as a base for the flying Catalina boats – evidence can be seen of this on a walk along the bay. The Galloway coastline offers an abundance of sandy beaches and rocky coves to explore. Walking, golf, sea and freshwater fishing, pony trekking, watersports and cycling are all available nearby. There are several beautiful gardens including Logan Botanical which benefits from the mild climate of the Gulf Stream. Beach ½ mile. Shop 2 miles, pub and restaurant 3 miles.

Quarter Acre, was perfect, it has everything you could need. The views from the cottage are amazing. Its a great spot to go if you want to get away from the city and relax in peace and comfort. The photos do not do it justice. I would go again. The only thing it does not have is a dryer

This was our second stay at the house and we really like it. Excellent location close to Stranraer ( with its shops and restaurants) and fabulous views out over the bay. The rooms are spacious - especially the kitchen and family bathroom. There’s plenty of lovely walks for our dogs in the surrounding area so they had a blast. We felt the lack of a tumble dryer this time as it rained heavily for most of the week but would nonetheless highly recommend the holiday accommodation.

Fabulous spacious cottage in a beautiful area. Hot tub was a bonus and great to relax in on a November evening with the stars and moon above!
