Guests consistently mention the friendly and helpful hosts, as well as the comfortable and cosy atmosphere. The cottage serves as an excellent base for exploring Ayrshire and beyond. Occasional minor issues are noted, such as heating controls, mattress comfort, and the lack of a freezer, but these do not detract from the overwhelmingly positive experience. Thoughtful touches, such as homemade cakes on arrival, are appreciated by many guests.
Cleanliness is frequently highlighted, with guests describing the cottage as spotless, fresh, and well maintained. Only one or two minor comments about the outside being a little unkempt were noted, but these were rare.
The rural, peaceful setting is widely praised, with beautiful countryside views and convenient access to local attractions. Guests appreciate the tranquillity and proximity to Ayrshire's sights, though a car is recommended.
Most guests find the cottage very comfortable, with cosy living spaces and good beds. A few mention issues with the upstairs mattress and heating controls, but these are outweighed by positive comments about warmth, space, and relaxation.
The cottage is described as very well equipped, with modern appliances, powerful showers, and good amenities. Minor suggestions include the addition of a freezer and improvements to the upstairs bathroom door and cooker markings.
Many guests mention thoughtful touches such as homemade cakes and festive decorations. While these gestures are appreciated, it should be noted that such gifts are not guaranteed for every stay.

The village of Mauchline sits peacefully in the lovely hills and countryside in an ideal spot for exploring the beautiful scenery of Ayrshire and the Isle of Arran. Mauchline is probably most famous for being the home of Robert Burns, who farmed in the area for many years and the house he shared with his wife Jean Amour, is now a museum and part of the Burns Trail. There are several golf courses including The Royal Troon close to the village. Culzean Castle is a magnificent National Trust for Scotland property and has been the principal seat of the Kennedy Family since 1759. The country park is 600 acres and has so many attractions for visitors to enjoy.

Fortunately we had some sunshine in early May and enjoyed the views from the cottage but not quite warm enough to sit outside at the wooden picnic bench. The Wi Fi was particularly good. This was a nice cottage, we very much enjoyed out stay.
Anna
The house itself is warm and cosy with everything you could want and the owners nearby for any problems. Lovely comfortable beds. Will be going again!
John
It was well beautifully clean, well equipped and in a lovely position. It was the perfect base to get out and about to explore the area. There was lots of information available in the cottage about places to visit. We would definitely book this cottage again.
