Aptly named ‘Making Waves’, this stunning property sits right on the sea shore in the pretty fishing port of Cellardyke on the east Fife coast. Enjoying a unique position and furnished and equipped to an excellent standard with Sky Sports, Wi-Fi and three good sized bedrooms, the property couldn’t be better placed for exploring the Fife coastline. The property has beautiful views towards May Island, Bass Rock and North Berwick Law from the kitchen, dining room and master bedroom. Outside the south facing garden looks right over the shore, the perfect place to relax with a glass of wine and watch the fishing boats sailing by. A short stroll brings you to the neighbouring town of Anstruther, which has a good selection of shops, pubs and The Cellar Restaurant, holder of 3AA rosettes and UK seafood restaurant of the year. For the more energetic, the Fife Coastal Path runs for 150km nearby, and for cyclists, the Millennium Cycle Way has 300 miles of quiet country roads, disused railways and forest tracks to explore. Look out for boat trips to the Isle of May, a National Nature Reserve where you can spot puffins and seals. Boats leave from the port at Anstruther between April and September.

Really lovely location - close to the main street of Anstruther but far enough away to be very peaceful. Uninterrupted sea views from the living room, dining room, kitchen and one bedroom make the apartment bright and beautiful. The apartment was spotlessly clean and tidy and well-equipped with kitchen and household equipment. For all of these I give it 5 stars as we had a lovely, relaxing stay and would visit again. Points to note in preparation for your visit; toiletries and food basics like milk aren't provided and there is no welcome gift - there is salt in the kitchen and cleaning products including dishcloth etc but only a teeny drop of washing up liquid. There was coffee and tea in canisters but the coffee was dried up and congealed so I would bring your own. The outside steps and mat were very dirty (I actually cleaned them while I was there to avoid having to look at them) which creates a bad impression on arrival but inside the apartment gleams so that's quickly counteracted. Others have commented that the decor is a bit dated which is fair but not a problem for us as it was all clean and pleasant.
