Newburgh C Listed Townhouse, which is set over three floors, has enjoyed a whole new makeover and pampering in 2021. Now with its high-end finishes and tasteful decoration throughout, you will enjoy staying in this warm and welcoming house with its sumptuous quality furnishings and homely feel.
Perched on the south side of the Firth of Tay, the townhouse has views out to the Firth from the upper bedrooms, where visitors can access the start of the Fife Coastal Path. The elevated living room has north and south facing windows plus a cosy open fire to sit by on a cool day. The ground floor comprises of a kitchen/dining room with views and access out to the courtyard. The south-facing private garden is laid with stone and surrounded by beautiful plants and alpines. Up one step from the ground floor is the shower room and then carry-on up a rounded turret staircase to the next level.
The first floor comprises of the living room, an adult-size bunk bed room, and separate toilet. The top floor includes a king-size and twin room. Each of these rooms have windows on both sides of the property to allow sunlight to filter in. The property also has space for 2 cars with off-road parking and a utility room in the garden area for extra storage, and an under-counter full freezer.
No need to use the kitchen when the village has its own distillery! Just a 10-minute walk away and you will find yourself at the award winning Lindores Abbey Distillery. Live music, whisky tasting, gin, distillery tours, beautiful cheese boards are just a few of the features! East Port café and Jamesfield Farm shop are also local. 5 minutes’ drive away to the next village over and you can get excellent food from Abernethy’s Crees Inn pub or Clootie McToot Dumplings Café.
Situated in North Fife and on the border of Perthshire there are dozens of beautiful walks, coastal paths and hills to explore. Walk through the enchanted forest and under a waterfall at Maspie Den then on to Falkland Palace.

I have family in the area and this was the ideal location for us.The property is spacious, there were 5 of us, we did not feel like we couldn’t have personal space when needed. We had everything we needed in the kitchen, the only recommendation I would make would be for the owner to invest in an airfryer and a retractable washing line in the garden, but these would have just been for ease. The lounge is cosy and comfortable. The bedroom were spacious and had everything we required. The bathroom and additional toilet were well equipped just be aware if you shower and open the bathroom door the fire alarm will go off with the steam from the bathroom if you open the door immediately after showering. The local area has friendly residents, local coop is so handy, there are some nice walks in the area and a great park for the kids. We will be booking again for when we visit the family.

On arrival very disappointed at first impressions of property. Dirty windows flaking paint and window sills covered in cobwebs and dirt. Outdoor seating rusty ,dirty and unusable. Damp smell from shower room which had a dirty shower cubicle , black mouldy silicon and disgusting toilet brush. There was a fan in shower cubicle but didnt seem to work and with no window either this is prob reason for damp smell.Apart from these issues the rest of the property was very nice. Clean comfy bed. Lovely living room area and a nice sitting area to the rear of house. We really enjoyed our holiday but first impressions are very important so a wee bit of tlc required. Front and back door locks a bit temperament..

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Newburgh. The property was clean, comfortable and well equipped. We visited the Fife coast, Scone Palace, Dundee (by train from Cupar so we could travel on the rail bridge) and Falkland Palace.Just a couple of points to note...The parking space is on a slope, so your car needs to have a good handbrake.There are lots of stairs, which generally isn't a problem, but the turret staircase to the first floor doesn't have a handrail. A little bit awkward for us as we have both had recent knee surgeries.There isn't anywhere to eat out locally, but there is a very well stocked Co-op a few yards away on the opposite side of the road. We had a couple of lunches out instead, The Wee Chippy in Anstruther, and The Covenanter in Falkland. Both were excellent.
