Cluaran Cottage has been thoughtfully equipped by the owners to provide guests with a great level of comfort and is an ideal base for exploring the stunning east coast of Scotland. This detached house is situated close to the centre of the charming and historic Highland town of Tain, and has a small garden that surrounds the house. Predominantly built of mellow sandstone, this thriving town has an excellent selection of small shops, restaurants, cafés and pubs. There is also many sporting and recreational facilities including a golf club (designed by Old Tom Morris), tennis courts, parks and bowling club, which are all within easy walking distance.
The cottage sits on the renowned North Coast 500 Route, which passes through some of the most spectacular scenery in Britain. There are numerous places of interest to visit in the area, including the famous Glenmorangie Whisky Distillery, Dunrobin Castle, historic seat of the Dukes of Sutherland, and the enchanting town of Dornoch, with its magnificent cathedral, championship golf course and award-winning beach. Tain is ideally located for exploring the whole of the Highland region. Head north to discover cliff top walks and wide unspoilt beaches, west to view mountains and lochs, or south to meander around the Black Isle and Inverness, the capital city of the Highlands. Well-equipped and clean two story cottage in a good location. Three bedrooms with king beds in two and two twin beds in the other. Kitchen was adequate for everyday meal preparation. Living room and eating areas were large enough for residents to enjoy themselves. There is a television in each room. The only bathroom is on the main floor and has been updated. The four of us had no problem with water pressure or a shortage of hot water. The thermostat was adjustable with the inside temperature quite comfortable. The stack on refrigerator is small with a separate freezer underneath. There is a washer/dryer combination inside the cottage as well. The lawn is well maintained and there is private off street parking. The proprietor was readily available via text and responses were rapid. The town center is only a few minutes’ walk. The cottage is exactly as shown on the website. The police and ambulance stations are across the street.

Ideal place for a bigger family or several friends for even a longer period. The 3 independent bedrooms while one of them has 2 single beds were ideal for our group of 4. The house is very cosy, with spacious living room and own parking site. Be mindful that the bathroom is in the ground floor while 2 bedrooms are in the first floor. I can fully recommend this house and host as well.
