Nestled in the heart of The Cairngorms National Park, the town of Aviemore has a wonderful range of shops, restaurants and bars, and is also the starting point of The Speyside Way; a long distance walking route that runs all the way to the coast.
A paradise for outdoorsy types, the area offers a broad range of outdoor activities, including skiing, snowboarding, mountain and quad biking, zip lining, climbing, hill walking and water sports on the nearby lochs and rivers. Take a trip on The Cairngorm Mountain Railway, visit The Cairngorm Reindeer Centre, The Landmark Forest Adventure Park in Carribridge, or take a trip to The Highland Wildlife Park at nearby Kingussie. About 12 miles from Kingussie lies Ardverikie Estate, which has been used as the backdrop for a number of films and TV series, including ’The Missionary’, ’Mrs Brown’ and the BBC’s popular drama ’Monarch of the Glen’. Another visitor attraction to suit all the family is The Highland Folk Museum, which offers a unique insight into Highland life in a living history setting.

Me and my family had a wonderful stay at Cairnie View. It felt like home from home. Situated close to a walking trail, you can see this from the back garden, along with lovely cows if they come down the field far enough and part of the Cairngorm mountains. A short walk to local shops. Close to Aviemore high street which can also be accessed from walking along the trail. A short drive to local lochs and attractions Aviemore and surrounding areas have to offer. Overall a great stay and trip for our first time visiting the Scottish highlands, we will most definitely be returning.

10 minute walk to the centre of Aviemore through a quiet road. House was comfortable size for 4 adults. Hot tub was nice after walking in the hills. Only slight improvement would be to have curtains in the front room where the large TV was. In the summer the sun shines in to this room and degrades the viewing experience. Mattress in main bedroom where en-suite shower was located could have been firmer - a renewal is warranted. Overall a solid 8/10.

A spacious, comfortable and well equipped house close to aviemore and all it has to offer. We particularly enjoyed the hot tub and having the main living room plus the extra room downstairs which our kids set up as their gaming room. Lovely views from the back garden and a peaceful quiet area to be in.
