A few steps up onto the kitchen and dining area and you are transported to a beautifully sociable space where the chef can create delicious food while the guests gather round the welcoming dining table. The beauty of Big Sand is its flexible living and sleeping space which means that visitors can choose from a selection of bedrooms so no matter what the combination of guests there is a bedroom for everyone! On the ground-floor, choose from a king-size, a twin or even two singles, or upstairs take your pick from a further two king-sizes, a single and a twin. There is no shortage of bathrooms either with three bathrooms and a shower room. Upstairs isn’t just about sleeping with a fabulous first-floor sitting room boasting more breath-taking views of the Torridon mountains, Skye, Longa and the Outer Hebrides beyond. For the kids (and big kids!) there is a games room with PS3, great for chilling out and getting away from it all. There is nowhere better to enjoy the great outdoors than here at Big Sand and the outdoor space is the ideal setting for happy get-togethers. Children can run around the extensive gardens while the grown-ups chill out on a lounger on the decking area. The thriving Wester Ross community of Gairloch is made up of the villages and hamlets around Loch Gairloch - the village of Gairloch being the largest of the settlements overlooking the Loch. The area provides spectacular scenery, with unforgettable sunsets across the Minch to the Western Isles and the dramatic backdrop of the Torridon Mountains to the south. There is plenty too for the visitor to enjoy; clean sandy beaches, porpoises and seals in the Loch, fishing boats in the harbour, boat trips to the Isle of Skye, a superb golf course, opportunities for fishing and pony trekking, and some of the best and most varied walking in Scotland! Dining options include The Shieling, and you can stock up on essentials at the local McColl’s convenience store.
