Sitting in a glorious position elevated above the Caledonian Canal at Gairlochy is this contemporary, single-storey holiday home, Eildan. With a spacious design, breathtaking views and charming tartan finishings paying homage to the idyllic Scottish landscape, this home makes the ultimate escape for friends, families and avid walkers. Inside, the bright and airy sitting room hosts plush seating and a Smart TV, the perfect space for cosying up after a long day of walking through this picturesque area. From here, the fully-equipped kitchen/diner welcomes you to cook up a storm, from the induction hob and dishwasher to the wine cooler and coffee maker, the space has everything for your self-catering needs. Enjoy your delicious meals at the dining table for eight, or venture outside onto the decking with furniture for dinner with a view. As you grow tired, retire to one of four beautifully-presented bedrooms; the master super-king-size also has its own shower room and access to the patio, followed by a king-size with an en-suite, and completing the bedrooms are two twins. Completing the interior is a sleek family bathroom, where you can savour a long soak after a ramble. When you’re not indulging in your surroundings and gazing upon your Ben Nevis and Aonach Mhor scenery, you can head out to find a wealth of natural beauty on foot, or in the car. Perfectly positioned close to the Great Glen way and Caledonian Canal, there are ample walking opportunities from the doorstep. Thrillseekers may want to try the local mountain biking or hit some altitude with a day or two of skiing. Within easy reach is the delightful town of Fort William for a variety of restaurants and pubs, along with a cinema, shops and distillery so you won’t be left short of activities. Slightly further afield, you can find easy access to the west coast and spend a day at Mallaig and Arisaig or take a trip on the Jacobite Steam Train. Whatever your style of adventure, Eildan is a fantastic choice, year-round.

Fort William, the principal town in the Western Highlands, is located on the banks of Loch Linnhe and has a broad variety of stores and pubs that serve an excellent assortment of meals. The area has stunning scenery and a wealth of walking activities, ranging from mild strolls to more demanding treks, as well as Britain's highest mountain, Ben Nevis. Skiiers will also appreciate the Nevis Range, a ski resort with a mountain gondola and a World Cup mountain biking track just four miles from Fort William. Take a tour of the Ben Nevis Whisky Distillery or visit the Glenfinnan Monument for a more peaceful respite. A fantastic base for visiting the magnificent West Highlands.

Eildan is perfect for a base to explore the highlands. It’s very comfortable, immaculately clean and well equipped with all you need. Hot tub was a lovely bonus , but do take care getting in and out as the steps are not fixed to the ground. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and will highly recommend it to family and friends.

The home was in a rural, extremely quiet location and took full advantage of beautiful views over the Highlands from the large deck and windows. The Caledonia canal and Loch Lochy are walking distance, and many other trails including Ben Nevis and walks from Spean Bridge are a 10-15 minute car ride away. The house was very well supplied for self-catering and would have been comfortable with a larger group. We appreciated the washer and dryer and the dishwasher. You will need a car at this property as it is a drive for services, but if you are looking for peace and quiet in a tranquil Highlands setting, you will find it here.

The house was comfortable and the views beautiful!!! We had a bit of trouble with hot water on the first day, but the property owners were super helpful and promptly got the issue sorted!
