Guests say

Guests are consistently impressed with Bourblach, praising its stunning location, immaculate cleanliness, and comfortable amenities. The property's views and proximity to nature and transport are highlights, alongside the personal touches from the owners. While there are minor maintenance issues, the overall experience is highly regarded, with many expressing a desire to return.

Guests that stayed at this property said

Reviews frequently mention the property being clean and well-kept, with only one isolated comment about food left in the freezer, which seems to be an exception rather than the rule.

The location is consistently described as breathtaking, with stunning views and easy access to local attractions, nature, and transport links.

The property is repeatedly referred to as comfortable, warm, and cosy, with a welcoming atmosphere. There is a single mention of difficulty heating a room, but this appears to be due to exceptionally cold weather.

Facilities are generally well-regarded, with the property described as well-equipped. However, there are comments about maintenance issues like a broken shower and the need for more kitchenware, which slightly lower the score.

Guests appreciate the thoughtful touches, such as a welcome basket and personal calls from the owner. While these gestures are warmly received, it is noted that such gifts are a kind gesture and not guaranteed.

If you want to travel further afield, Armdale on the Isle of Skye can be reached via the ferry port. Tour the local castle, gardens, and museum, or if you take the car and time permits, visit some of Skye's beauty spots including Fairy Pools, before catching the ferry back to Mallaig. The harbour is also where you get the boat to Inverie on Knoydart, home to the Old Forge, the most remote pub on mainland Britain. If you drove to Bourblach you will have passed the Harry Potter Viaduct at Glenfinnan. During the summer months Harry Potter fans and steam train enthusiasts will be able to enjoy the sight of two steam trains hooting and tooting their way past Morar, a mile or so from the house, twice a day, on the final stage of their run to Mallaig from Fort William and back. Take to the Highlands with Bourblach as your base. EPC Rating: Band G

The renowned "Road to the Isles" ends in Mallaig, a vibrant and bustling fishing community that is well-liked by tourists who want to experience the feel of a working fishing port while also taking advantage of all the restaurants and shopping it has to offer. A ferry crosses the Minch from Mallaig to the Isle of Skye all year long, making it a fantastic entry point. The final station of the famed Jacobite steam train, which travels from Fort William to Mallaig and back through some of Scotland's most breath-taking landscapes, is Mallaig. Not enough large glasses, teaspoons or a usable frying pan(we bought one in the end). Not enough clothes pegs and no wardrobe in the twin room. The chest of drawers in the twin room has the bottom of the bottom drawer falling out.In fact the whole chest needs replacing. These are all things that are easily put right. However that doesn’t detract from the wonderful position and incredible views.

I highly recommend this place. Its a lovely cottage in a spectacular location, with plenty of space and all you could need. We all including the kids loved the house, the garden and especially the beaches which are just a few minutes down the hill. Communication with the owner was very good.
