There are brilliant coastal and hill walks, with a "Munro" directly behind the village. Hill loch fishing may be available by arrangement with the estate. Wildlife is abundant, with a whole host of birds (golden eagles, gannets, divers and guillemots), animals (red and roe deer) and mammals (dolphins and porpoises, otters and seals) in the area. We had an amazing time at Grieves Cottage. This has been one of the best - if not THE best - cottage we stayed in over the last 15 years! Super well equipped overall, from comfy living room furniture to beds with just perfect mattresses to kitchen equipment that makes cooking for four in a remote place not only possible but easy and a joy - and on top everything was spotless clean on arrival! We had a fab time in Arnisdale and at Grieves Cottage despite the mix weather, and encoutered super friendly and helpful locals. If we ever decide to go to the same place again, it would be Grieves Cottage. If there was one thing to make others aware of - the ceilings upstairs are rather low and some doors are too, but both bubby and boy (over 180cm/6ft) managed fine.

Grieves Cottage is in a fantastic position in Arnisdale with views of mountains and sea. It is comfortable and super clean. The only things missing from the equipment are a hairdryer and coffee machine, every else is present. There is a small restriction on headroom up stairs that should be mentioned in the details. The arrival instructions were not clear and made for some anxiety prior to getting there, this could be easily avoided with better communication.Overall we thought it was one of the best stays in the highlands we have had over the last 15+ years.
