Guests consistently praise the welcoming atmosphere, thoughtful touches, and the cottage’s suitability as a base for exploring the Highlands. The owners are frequently commended for their hospitality and responsiveness. While a few guests mention the walk to the beach and town is longer than expected, and minor issues such as a loud heating system or lack of a dishwasher, the overall experience is overwhelmingly positive, making it a highly recommended choice for a relaxing Highland getaway.

Cleanliness is repeatedly highlighted, with guests describing the cottage as spotless, immaculate, and very well presented. There are no negative comments regarding cleanliness, and several guests mention fresh linens and mid-stay changes.

The location is praised for being quiet, peaceful, and ideal for exploring Nairn and the Highlands. Some guests note the walk to the beach and town is longer than anticipated, but most find the setting convenient with amenities nearby.

The cottage is described as very well equipped, with a spacious kitchen, modern appliances, games, and a lovely garden. Minor suggestions include the absence of a dishwasher and a better-stocked larder, but these do not detract from the overall positive impression.

Many guests mention thoughtful touches such as welcome packs, scones, cakes, and helpful information. While these gestures are highly appreciated, it should be noted that such gifts are not guaranteed for every stay.

About this property

Very well-presented and welcoming semi-detached stone cottage on the outskirts of the pretty coastal town of Nairn in the Scottish Highlands. Presented to an excellent standard with great attention to detail this cottage would be ideal for a family or group of friends who want to spend time together exploring this lovely part of Scotland. The cottage is deceptively spacious with two sunny bedrooms on the upper floor along with a shower room and on the ground floor there is a second bathroom, very well-equipped kitchen with dining area and cosy sitting room with woodburning stove, just perfect for cosy nights in after an active day.

There is a parking area to the front with bench seating and a fully enclosed private garden where barbecues and alfresco dining can be enjoyed on the warmer days. The town of Nairn itself has much to offer but the main attraction has to be its beautiful stretch of golden sandy beach where visitors can walk for miles taking in the unspoilt beauty of the area. Pretty little shops and cafés are dotted around and if you continue northwards along the Moray Firth coastline there are an abundance of small fishing villages, each with their own history and visitor attractions. Leaving the coast why not pick up the famous Malt Whisky Trail and drive through some of the country’s most stunning scenery, stopping off at the distilleries along the route.

Nairn is close to the capital city of the Highlands, Inverness, and a drive around the banks of famous Loch Ness partaking in a spot of Nessie hunting can be great fun. This is a fabulous part of the world and this pretty and welcoming cottage will ensure an amazing holiday for all. EPC Rating: Band E

Nairn is an attractive and lively seaside town dating back to Victorian times. It has long been a popular holiday destination and is just 16 miles from the town of Inverness. Nairn even lays claim to being one of the driest and sunniest places in the country! The town offers some of the top beaches in Scotland and cleanest bathing waters in Britain. Also, one of the only two dolphin colonies in the UK is based in the Moray Firth.

It’s also immaculate. Everything has been thought out carefully to make our stay very enjoyable. It feels like home from home. The hosts are charming and very helpful. Phillip came over at 10pm to sort out a problem with the front door! A beautiful cottage in a beautiful region, ideal for a wonderful holiday! I would love to stay there again one day

    Would definitely book again.

My old bones really appreciated the softish bed, I usually find beds too hard for comfort so this was a pleasant surprise. Everything was spotless and the guidelines book was handy, gadgets easy to decipher even for a non-tech fogie like me.
