Osprey Cottage is praised for its cosy atmosphere, stunning views, and warm hospitality from the host, Robbie. Guests enjoy the open fire, comfortable bed, and the peacefulness of the location. While some guests mention issues with maintenance and a lack of modern amenities, the charm of the cottage and its surroundings often compensates for these shortcomings.
Most guests found the cottage to be clean, with only a few mentioning the need for a more thorough cleaning or minor issues with kitchen utensils. The property seems to be well-maintained in terms of cleanliness overall.
The location is highly praised for its beautiful views and proximity to local attractions. Some guests noted the road noise, but many found it quiet in the evenings. The area is appreciated for its peacefulness and natural beauty.
Guests generally find the cottage comfortable, particularly highlighting the bed and the warmth provided by the open fire. However, some guests noted issues with the furniture and the strength of the shower, suggesting room for improvement in comfort.
The facilities are seen as adequate but basic, with some guests experiencing issues with hot water and heating controls. The lack of strong Wi-Fi and mobile signal is noted, and some guests mentioned the need for better kitchen appliances and clearer instructions for the facilities.
There are no specific mentions of gifts or special thoughtful touches provided by the host that would warrant a score in this category. While the host is commended for their hospitality, without explicit references to gifts, a score cannot be given.

Facilities are adequate, including combi microwave/grill, hob, central heating, fan heater and electric shower. A few issues to note: There was no information whatsoever about the cottage, or any instructions about using it, we had to sus everything out ourselves. We never saw the owner, the keys were in the door when we arrived and we just had to leave them in the cottage when we left. The central heating was great, but seemed to come on and off quite randomly; there were no controls in the cottage. The cottage is next to a busy fast road, which wouldn't have been a problem but the windows didn't close properly so traffic noise was an issue. The shower, as others have commented, was very feeble and needs replacing. Overall, Osprey Cottage has the potential to be an ideal country retreat, but in our opinion is in need of a bit of money spending and some TLC to bring it up to a 5 star standard.
