From your Skye cottage follow the road around the top of the Trotternish Peninsula, passing through an array of pretty crofting townships and Staffin with its lovely sandy beach. Alternatively stop off at the dramatic Quiraing mountain range, for a day's walking in the unspoilt beauty that the Isle of Skye is famed for.
