Surrounded by countryside and within easy reach of mountains, forests, and lochs, the cottage comfortably sleeps up to six guests and also welcomes up to two well-behaved dogs, making it ideal for families, friends, or couples travelling together.
Inside, Rivendell has a bright and sociable open-plan layout that brings together the kitchen, dining area, and lounge. The well-equipped kitchen has everything you need to prepare meals during your stay, whether it’s a quick breakfast before heading out for the day or a relaxed evening dinner with family and friends. The dining area sits alongside the lounge, creating a warm and inviting space to gather. After a day exploring the Highlands, the comfortable lounge is the perfect place to unwind, especially with the cosy glow of the wood-burning stove.
The cottage offers three comfortable bedrooms: a spacious king-size room, a welcoming double bedroom, and a twin-bedded room, providing flexible accommodation for a variety of groups. A modern bathroom features a bath with an overhead shower, while a separate utility room adds extra convenience for longer stays or for drying outdoor gear after a day in the hills.
Outside, the front garden adds a special charm to the property. A small pond sits peacefully in the garden, crossed by a quaint wooden bridge that creates a lovely focal point and a relaxing place to sit and enjoy the surroundings.
Rivendell is ideally located for exploring the local area. Nearby, the village of Spean Bridge offers local shops and cafés, while walkers and climbers can tackle the famous Ben Nevis, the UK’s highest mountain. Scenic journeys along the Great Glen lead to historic Urquhart Castle on the shores of Loch Ness, or south to the dramatic landscapes of Glencoe. A visit to the Isle of Skye is easily reached by ferry from Mallaig and driving home via Eilean Donan Castle. The nearby Nevis Range Mountain Resort offers walking, mountain biking, and a gondola ride for breathtaking views.
