Ferries run to Dunoon and the Cowal Peninsula, which is known as Argyll’s Secret Coast. Head south into Ayrshire with its varying coastline, villages, beaches and rocky coves to explore, with Skelmorlie heralding the start of the Ayrshire Coastal Path, a 100-mile long coastal walk. Inland there is walking, cycling, gardens and castles to visit, racing and a choice of golf courses, including the world famous open venues of Troon, Prestwick and Turnberry.

Glencairn Road lies only 20 miles from Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park, which is one of Scotland’s most picturesque areas with excellent outdoor activities to be enjoyed including walking, cycling, golf, fishing, pony trekking and water sports. Visit the Trossachs Discovery Centre to learn more about this exciting area, or enjoy a cruise on the stunning Loch Lomond. Stirling - with its ancient castle - is also easily accessible for a day out and well worth a trip, as is the historic city of Edinburgh. Shop 2 miles, pub and restaurant 500 yards.

As so many other guests have noted, what a wonderful holiday home! So clean and well equipped with fantastic views over the Firth of Clyde. We came to visit family and friends who are mostly over the other side of Glasgow. But we still managed to visit Isle of Bute by ferry, Inverary (fairy castle), Largs, Dumbarton Castle, Loch Lomond, Falkirk Wheel and the Kelpies, as well as Peebles! The weather was very kind. Only sprinkles of rain on the Tuesday when visiting family near Chatelerhault Country Park.The beds are so comfortable, I’m surprised we could leave the house to go to all these places. The welcome pack was much appreciated by all of us..

This house is one of the best I have ever stayed in. I don’t think the photos do it justice! It is so well equipped with everything you could possibly need for your stay and so tastefully decorated inside with a very well kept garden too. The view from the lounge is stunning also. Location is perfect for either driving to Glasgow and beyond or getting the train from the local station. I had a couple of questions for the owner and had very fast response so all in all I loved it and really hope I can return to explore the area further.
