This attractive detached cottage offering spacious holiday accommodation, furnished and decorated to a good standard, is set on the seashore, just 15 yards from the shingle beach (sand at low tide), just outside of Pirnmill. From most of the rooms and the conservatory you have fantastic sea views over the Kilbrannan Sound towards Kintyre and guests can enjoy the evening sunsets. You can easily walk to the shop and restaurant, 0.25 miles. From nearby Lochranza with its facilities, restaurants and the distillery you can take the short ferry trip to Claonaig and explore a piece of Kintyre. The Isle of Arran has long since been a playground for the Scots, its topography resembles that of a miniature Scotland - a mountainous north and rolling, pastoral south. Arran has many outdoor activities in peaceful, countryside surroundings. The wildlife is outstanding, with deer, pheasant, otter and eagle readily seen in the mountains. There are seal colonies near coastal caves, trails and pathways to mysterious Bronze Age stone circles, and many relaxing angling hours to be enjoyed by streams or sea. 7 golf courses tempt the golfer, whilst history and heritage is catered for at Brodick Castle and various museums. Shop and restaurant ¼ mile, pop-up pub in village 1st Saturday of each month.

Dunmaghlas was a great base for us to explore the local beaches, walks, lochs and Pirnmill hills. The coastal scenery and panoramic views of Arran were stunning. We were fortunate to have great weather which just added to our stay. Dunmaghlas was a very well equipped cottage, had everything we needed for a family of 5. As we don’t drive, we used the local buses to get around and found the location of the cottage helpful to access buses to both south and north of the island. Would definitely book again, thanks.

We’ve had several holidays at Dunmaghlas all of which have been very enjoyable. Needed to use the central heating for the first time this May as part of the 2 week stay was rather chilly at times. The housekeeping service was very responsive to our contact. Overall the location of the house is what really makes it special. There was 3 in our party the first week and 4 in the second which did not strain the bathroom facilities. A house full of people might have made it a bit more difficult. We love this place.

We spent a wonderful week at Dunmaghlas, and were sorry to say goodbye. The cottage is well equipped with everything you need, and was spotlesly clean (even though its dog friendly, youd never know). We loved the quiet location, cozy fireplace and sea views. A perfect spot for a wet and windy week in Arran!
