Set in stunning surroundings with uninterrupted views over the surrounding countryside, River Cottage is a charming, self-catering, detached holiday cottage. Idyllically positioned for those seeking a tranquil and rural retreat, surrounded by magnificent scenery, close to the hamlet of Enochdhu in the heart of Perthshire. Once part of the Kindrogan Hunting Estate, the cottage is built on ‘policy ground’ and is renowned for its outstanding countryside, wildlife and dark sky location. There is an abundance of cycle and footpaths from the front door and The Cateran Trail is close by, as is Glenshee, Scotland’s largest ski area. After exploring the area, guests can relax on the terrace with a glass of wine and see deer drinking from the river. An abundance of bird life and red squirrels are frequent visitors. Kirkmichael is only 3 miles away and has a local shop, restaurants and pubs, Pitlochry is only 10 miles, Blairgowrie 15 miles and Perth 28 miles. Glenshee Ski Centre is just 20 miles away. Shop, pub and restaurant 3 miles.

A very secluded site for a peaceful break, 2 miles from the nearest (Community) shop, pub or restaurant, surrounded by woodland and adjacent to the beautiful River Ardle. There are plenty of walking routes to enjoy and the Cateran Trail long distance path passes close by.The cottage itself is very comfortable, well equipped & stylishly decorated. We would happily return.

Second visit to river cottage and love it if you like wildlife this is the place , it is a bit secluded but that’s a bonus sometimes isn’t it , very comfortable and warm if the weather turns bad even in the snow. I will be back

We thought the cottage was very sweet but the single beds were not standard size (3ft) so not ideal for adults. My husband is 6’4” and just couldn’t get comfortable in any of the beds because of the protrusion at the end of all the beds. Maybe this cottage would suit a family with small children and average size adults. The whole place seemed tiny for three adults, and the only comfortable seating was the sofa. We travelled quite far on a two week road trip so sleeping well is very important. I’d just like to add that we also live in a cottage and l would not put two beds in my smallest bedroom. River Cottage, in my opinion should not be advertised for four people. We know the cottage has had good reviews so this is our honest opinion for our stay.
