Bad stuff first.... the smell of old wet cloths met us at the door, after investigation we found a number of issues such as greasy cooker, dirty sink, dirty floor, burned out kettle, and so on.....also bear in mind when booking, the pictures on the web site are not upto date.....That said, after I spoke to a very nice lady in the office, we did the tour round the main house and by the time we got back .....all sorted, and a new kettle, thanks Penny. The cottage itself is cozy, just needs some TLC.Location is amazing !! Grounds, house and staff superb. So quiet, and after 5 o'clock you have the whole estate to yourself. Kelso is the nearest town, usual supermarkets, we ate at the "Contented Vine", absolutely 5 star, the cobbles is nice as well. We didn't get chance to try the takeaways, maybe next time.
