Sleeping six guests, and welcoming four-legged friends, the two-bedroom retreat captures commanding views out across Loch Rannoch from its setting on a wooded estate at Kinloch Rannoch, 18 miles from Aberfeldy. Make the most of the waterside setting of your Scottish bolthole by hiring paddleboards, canoes or kayaks and venturing off to explore. Lace up your walking boots and set off along the shores of the loch or make your way into Tay Forest Park, 2.5 miles away, to wander through the trees. Take a cruise on Loch Tay from Kenmore, 16 miles away. Plan a day out to Pitlochry, 25 miles away.

Enter this property by following the walkway, which has several steps. Let yourselves in at ground-floor level to find the retreat has a clever, reverse-level design, with its bedrooms and bathrooms downstairs and its open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner upstairs in order to maximise the view. Your bedrooms both have zip-and-link beds and can be set up either as doubles or twins, depending on your requirements at booking. One of them has an en-suite bathroom and there is also a family bathroom at this level. Head on upstairs to emerge in the generous living space. Here, you have a cosy lounge area where you can catch up on each other’s news and host movie nights. The kitchen/diner space has been equipped with all the accessories you are likely to need to help you cater for your party with your own ingredients. There is a large table here too, where you can linger over your feasts before heading off for a sauna. The lounge has either a pull-down double griffin bed or double sofa bed, and opens into a spacious conservatory and has comfortable seating that has been arranged to allow you to absorb the incredible scenery as you chat.

While there’s no private garden here, you can slide open the glass doors from the conservatory to bring in the fresh air and create a covered balcony-like area. There is also a neighbouring restaurant and bar on the site. Charges may apply for leisure activities. Guests benefit from free parking across the site, first come, first served.
