About this property

Eyemouth 3 miles. This spacious and well-presented detached cottage is situated in the village of Coldingham, on Scotland's south-east coastline, just north of Eyemouth. Only eight minutes’ walk to the beach, this bright and welcoming cottage is perfect for a family or group of friends in need of a break away beside the sea. Upon entering this welcoming property you will feel instantly at home; it is clear that each room has been lovingly furnished in order to provide a comfortable and convenient environment in which to socialise and relax. The delightful sitting room comes complete with sliding doors, leading out to the patio and lawned garden, a perfect place in which to enjoy a class of something cool whilst watching the children play in safety. The well-equipped kitchen feels inviting and exceptionally modern, complete with first-class cooking facilities and a dining area, meaning that guests can swap stories of the day’s adventures as dinner is being prepared. The ground floor is completed by a double bedroom and cloakroom, whilst upstairs you will find two stylish family bathrooms and three tastefully decorated bedrooms, one of which benefits from en-suite shower facilities. Outside there’s always a spot to enjoy the sun at any time of the day as the cottage has gardens to the front, side and rear, as well as parking space for everyone and a place to store your bikes (by arrangement). Chaldon’s central location is one the property’s best attributes, with something for everyone close by. The village centre, offering pubs, shops and a supermarket is within walking distance, whilst Coldingham’s sloping sands, fringed by lush greenery, are situated less than ten minutes away. The stunning St Abb's Head National Nature Reserve is also very close by and offers the perfect day out for birdwatchers, walkers and those who love wildlife, as are interesting local attractions such as Eyemouth Maritime Centre, Paxton House and Chain Bridge Honey Farm. St. Abbs is also the filming location for the recent Avengers movie with the village now being twinned with New Asgard. No matter what time of year you visit, Chaldon offers excellent accommodation for the whole family in a relaxing location close to the sea. EPC Rating: Band E

Eyemouth is a fishing port situated on the east coast, just over the Scottish border. Gunsgreen House is well worth a visit, where you can learn about the history of the town including its smuggling history. Enjoy a round of golf on the cliff top course or explore nearby castles and country houses, a short drive away. With Berwick upon Tweed 8 miles away and Edinburgh and Newcastle upon Tyne both reached in an hour, Eyemouth is a great base for touring the Scottish Borders.

Plenty of space for a big family or even two families. Close to a pub and a clean beach. Long walks available in this area or easy enough just to sit down and relax. Be mindful of being close to a fairly busy road if you have loose pets or children. No problem coming back here though with loads more to explore and do.

Clean, comfortable, lots of sofas. Close to the beach and the lovely harbour nearby. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely return.

I cleaned the outside of the bread bin and it was filthy. I also cleaned the lounge table top and again, this was filthy. All windows are in need of a good clean. The lounge cushion covers are in need of replacement and the seating has all seen better days. When you sit on the two seater settee you fall in to the middle of it. There were no instructions in relation to the outside waste bins so it was difficult to know which bin to use. Both bins, sited next to the back door, were filthy and the smell was overpowering. We swept the back patio as it was covered in vegetation debris. The outside wooden bench couldn't be used as again, it was filthy. For a house that sleeps eight there were only two decent outside chairs to sit on. Overall the house was functional but it is in need of a good clean freshen up.
