Guests say

Courtyard Cottage offers a peaceful and scenic retreat, surrounded by beautiful gardens and countryside, making it ideal for relaxation and dog walks. Guests consistently praise the tranquil location, comfortable beds, and the well-kept grounds. The cottage is generally clean and well-equipped, though some mention the need for upgrades to kitchen equipment, mattresses, and the television. Staff are noted as friendly and helpful. Minor issues such as early departure times, hard single beds, and occasional cleaning lapses are mentioned, but overall, guests enjoy their stays and many express a desire to return.

Most guests found the cottage spotlessly clean and well-presented, though there was one mention of the property being dirty on arrival and another noting cleanliness as just 'OK'.

The location is widely praised for its stunning scenery, peacefulness, and proximity to walks, historic sites, and the beautiful estate grounds.

Guests found the cottage comfortable, especially the double bed and living areas. Some noted the single beds were too hard, but this did not significantly detract from overall comfort.

Facilities are generally good, with well-equipped kitchens and en-suite bedrooms. However, several guests mention the need for upgrades to kitchen equipment, the television, and improvements like mattress toppers and better boot storage.

Staff are described as friendly and helpful, and prompt communication is noted. While some guests mention small touches like fresh scones in the café, there are no guaranteed gifts or extras.

As very busy professional people, what we wanted was a very quiet peaceful holiday and that is what we got. Our two dogs were in heaven due to all the exercise area. The cottage was very comfortable, cleanliness OK, and the controls on what was clearly a washing machine that needed replacing , worrying! We would return in a heartbeat as we loved the solitude and peace of the estate. What a lovely place!! Thank you.The Boulind family.

Lovely long weekend spent in Courtyard Cottage and the Clock House (we hired both cottages which adjoin). Beautiful location, in parkland by a lake, very well equipped and clean kitchen, and comfortable furnishing. Close to Kelso which is a charming small town. We hope to be back!
