Built around an inlet on Loch Fyne, Tarbert has long been both a harbour and a key strategic point in the history of Scotland's rugged West Coast. Tarbert once required three castles to protect it, and the ruins of one of these can still be visited today. Built around the natural harbour, fishing and sailing continue to play an important part in the life of the village. There are many annual events to interest all tastes including the sailing regatta on Loch Fyne, seafood and music festivals. The 87 mile Kintyre Way stretches from Tarbert to the south of the Kintyre Peninsula, and offers walking for all levels and with ferry connections to Islay and Arran, there is simply no better location to relax and explore this rugged and picturesque part of Scotland.

The cottage was immaculately clean and had everything you could need. The hot tub was the icing on the cake and we enjoyed using it come rain or shine! Hazel couldn’t have been more welcoming or helpful.

  • Ryan

The cottage is in the most beautiful position with panoramic views 360 degrees. Hazel and her family are super friendly and can't do enough for you, every small detail has been thought of and we are already planning next year's visit. The view from the hot tub is worth the visit alone.
