About this property

Set in the heart of Amlwch Port, a fishing village in Anglesey, is this traditional detached 18th-century dwelling, Royal Oak Cottage. Well-positioned near the harbour and an array of local amenities, whilst featuring a well-equipped kitchen, an inviting sitting room, and flexible sleeping arrangements, this dog-friendly cottage makes a great base for both families and friends alike. Prepare your meals with all expected appliances in the kitchen, before gathering as a group, ready to plan your Anglesey staycation. Retreat to the country-style sitting room, light the electric woodburner, and relax into the evening, before retiring to bed, with the selection of a double and a triple room. Awaken in the morning with a refreshing shower, before travelling towards the harbour, ready to watch the fishing boats land their catch, try a spot of fishing, a round of golf, a meal at Adelphi Vaults or Y Llofft Porth overlooking the sea above the harbour. Enveloping Royal Oak Cottage, you'll also arrive at Copper Kingdom Centre, an interactive copper museum, Goleudy Pothladd Amlwch, overlooking the coastline, and Mynydd Parys, a recommended climb for avid hikers. Travelling into the county, enjoy a stroll across the Isle of Anglesey Coastal Path, stop off at Holyhead Maritime Museum, or visit Holyhead Sailing Club, set upon Newry Beach. Offering something for everyone, venture towards Llangefni to encircle Nant-y-Pandy Nature Reserve, which is well-known for its wild-life or perhaps tour Oriel Môn, an art gallery rich in history, before enjoying a leisurely walk and picnic upon the border of Llyn Cefni Dam. Explore the coast and country of Anglesey at Royal Oak Cottage.

On the north-eastern tip of Anglesey, in a gorgeous coastal setting, is the small seaside community of Amlwch Port. The community, which formerly hosted prosperous mining operations, today hosts a variety of events and attractions, making it the perfect destination for a family vacation. Visit the Old Mine Works at Mynydd Parys to see the red, yellow, and purple rocks, which some people claim resemble the Moon's surface, or learn about the history of Amlwch and its copper mining tradition on the Heritage Copper Trail, a section of the lovely 125-mile coastal path that winds its way along the coast of Anglesey. Golf enthusiasts can play at the Bull Bay Golf Club nearby, and sea fishing is a particularly well-liked past time in Amlwch. Take a ferry to Dublin and spend the day experiencing Irish culture or stay on Anglesey and take advantage of one of the island's stunning beaches. Whatever your inclination, you will undoubtedly enjoy yourself in this magnificent beach setting.

..the downside being that the property is on a corner & therefore it used as a turning circle mind you it didn't help as filming was going on on the quayside so maybe that has increased traffic.

The cottage is in a great location. The kitchen is very small but very well equipped. We had to use the electric fire most evenings as a little chilly with just the one radiator in quite a large lounge/dinner. The bed small compared to what we're used to but matress comfortable. The shower is lovely. Great communications from owners.

everything clean and fresh on arrival, great welcome card and some mince pies really made our day, thank you. Having christmas decorations was lovely as well.
