About this property

Flagstaff is situated in a beautiful seaside area near Beaumaris on the Isle of Anglesey, in the village of Penmon. With its fantastic location near the historic town of Beaumaris, the attractions of Anglesey, and Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park on the mainland, this charming detached holiday home is a wonderful choice for families or groups of friends. Following a long day of sightseeing, you may relax in the comfort of the sitting room, complete with a TV and a roaring fire. At dinnertime, the whole family can gather in the kitchen/dining area to enjoy a home-cooked meal, or, if the weather is nice, you can take your feast outdoors and grill some delectable meats on the barbecue. After the sun goes down, head upstairs to use the bathroom or shower room to freshen up ahead of picking between a super-king, a twin, or a twin with an en suite shower room. If you can bear to leave this picture-perfect house, you can stroll the short distance to the coast, where you can while away the days on the shore of Traeth Penmon, admire Penmon Lighthouse, and marvel at the views across to Puffin Island. Don't forget to stop by the Pilot House cafe for an ice cream on the way back!  Travel into Beaumaris, to find all you need for self-catering at the local shops, or simply enjoy dinner out at either The George and Dragon or The Liverpool Arms Hotel with your loved ones. Take in the area's rich history by visiting the magnificent Beaumaris Castle and Beaumaris Prison and Court, or head out on the water to observe and learn about animals like puffins, seals, and porpoises. Flagstaff has all of this and more in store for you.

Located on the Menai Strait and offering breath-taking views of the Snowdonia mountain range, Beaumaris is a popular historic town on the Isle of Anglesey. In addition to being a major yachting hub, it is also famous for its mediaeval castle (now a World Heritage site) that dates back to the time of Edward I, as well as its Victorian pier, jail, and courthouse. Historic Beaumaris still has several of its original mediaeval streets. The town's atmosphere, variety of architectural designs and eras, scale, open areas, roof types, and general quality all play significant roles in shaping its unique identity. In addition to a golf course and a wide variety of restaurants, bars, and stores, visitors to this town can also go fishing, go on boat tours, and enjoy other outdoor recreation. The location is known for its beautiful sunsets, and the big bay along the coast is dubbed Red Wharf Bay (also known as Traeth Coch, or "Red Beach" in Welsh). Safe bathing, great family fun, fishing, and miles of gorgeous scenic walks are all possible due to the bay's low depth of only 10 square miles of water when the tide is out. You can also take a ferry from Holyhead to Dublin if you're willing to travel a bit further. Beaumaris is well situated on the south coast of the scenic Isle of Anglesey, making it a great central base from which to explore the rest of Wales.

Lovely open fire, comfy beds and well provisioned kitchen. We ate some lovely food there bought from a local fishmonger in Bangor - Menai Seafood! Lots to do locally and we had the most wonderful time. Could not recommend highly enough.
