Kings House in Beaumaris is a spacious property ideal for large groups, offering a central location close to local amenities. Guests appreciate the well-equipped kitchen, hot tub, and the property's charm, despite noting it could benefit from some updates and maintenance.
The property is generally described as clean, with specific mention of a well-prepared hot tub. However, some guests noted stains on walls and a musty smell in the hallway, indicating room for improvement.
The location is highly praised for its convenience, being within walking distance to the town, beach, and local attractions. Parking is noted as challenging but manageable with nearby options.
The property is commended for its spaciousness and suitability for large groups, including multiple bathrooms and living areas. Some guests mentioned uneven floors and stairs, which could affect comfort for those with mobility issues.
Facilities like the hot tub and well-equipped kitchen are highlights, but guests reported minor issues with lighting, a shortage of dinner plates, and the need for maintenance on kitchen cupboards and the front door lock.
There is no mention of gifts or special touches that would indicate thoughtfulness from the hosts, so it is not possible to provide a score in this category.

No smoking.. This property is set in the historic town of Beaumaris on the Menai Strait - with its medieval castle dating back to the reign of Edward I, and its Victorian pier, gaol and courthouse. Situated amongst a row of properties, Kings House was built in the 18th century about 1720. It did not however become the Inn until 1829, and has not functioned in that capacity for over 100 years. Deceptive in size from the front, the property offers spacious holiday accommodation, with six large bedrooms and plenty of living space. The good-sized courtyard to the rear of the property is opened onto from the conservatory and snug.
There is plenty to do in the area, with sailing being a very popular pastime. For golfing enthusiasts, there are two good golf courses to play on, and with several restaurants and pubs in the area, visitors will be spoilt for choice when it comes to eating out. Horse riding can also be found locally. There are also the many beaches in the area - Beaumaris has its own small beach, but not too far away is Red Wharf Bay which has a large sandy beach. There are also many other beaches on the island - Rhosneigr and Trearddur Bay to name just two. The nearest beach is just 1 minute’s walk from the property. Discover the island’s varied coastline, which is perfect for watersports, leisure centres and Sea Zoo.
For those who reluctantly wish to leave the beauty of Anglesey, North Wales offers unrivalled beauty in the form of the Snowdonia National Park. Historic castles await exploration and there are many excellent walks to suit all levels. Llandudno makes for an enjoyable day out, as does a trip on the Ffestiniog Railway. Day trips are available to Ireland from Holyhead port. Shops 200 yards, pub 20 yards.

Fantastic quirky charming characterful house , right in the centre of Beaumaris.(If you want pristine straight lines and decor , book into a bland travelodge)Set over three floors,it is much bigger than you think and lots of room for all. It was very homely and cosy , and the bathrooms /toilets were all well appointed.Large communal kitchen, which was great for meal times, games and crafting, with a lounge that is equally as large. The two bedrooms that are linked together by a door on the top floor , worked out well. There is a small corridor between them and the bathroom. So at night, you did not have to walk through a bedroom and disturb anyone if you needed the loo. Unfortunately , the outside lights in the courtyard were not working ,so we couldn't use the hot tub.But as there was enough to do in Beaumaris, we didn't mind in the end .The electrician was due to turn up, but to no avail, so if the hot tub is a priority check first with the manager Rob. We had no problem with parking luckily due to time of year and we're able to unload outside. Further up Church Street we then found free on road parking. In peak times however it could be trickier, but there are public car parks nearbye. All in all, fab house and time had by all in a gorgeous little town ,with plenty of beautiful independent shops, coffee houses, pubs and restaurants. We would return in an instance.

We had a really enjoyable family stay at Kings House in Beaumaris. The property is very spacious, which worked perfectly for our large group. It’s true that the house is a little dated in places, but its fantastic location more than makes up for it. Everything you need is within walking distance — the local Spar, plenty of pubs, and lots of lovely independent shops. There were a few minor issues: the lights kept tripping, and we couldn’t get the outside lights to work. We were also a bit short on dinner plates (only nine for a group of twelve), although there were plenty of cooking utensils. Parking can be tricky, but the nearby pier car park is convenient at £7.50 per day.Overall, the house did exactly what we needed it to do and gave us a comfortable base for a great family break.
