Yr Hen Stabl is a spacious and cosy cottage in a peaceful setting, ideal for families and dog owners. Guests consistently praise the secure garden, well-equipped kitchen, and relaxing hot tub. The property offers easy access to local beaches and amenities, making it a great base for exploring the area. While most found the cottage clean and comfortable, a few noted areas needing modernisation and occasional maintenance issues. Thoughtful touches such as welcome packs and owner responsiveness are appreciated, though not guaranteed. Overall, guests enjoyed relaxing stays and would happily return.
Most guests found the cottage clean and well cared for, with several reviews mentioning spotless conditions. However, a minority reported issues such as dog hair, cobwebs, and some missed cleaning in harder-to-reach areas. These occasional lapses slightly lower the score.
The location is frequently praised for its peacefulness, privacy, and proximity to beaches, shops, and attractions. The only recurring downside is the fast road with no pavements, making direct walks from the property less convenient.
Guests generally found the cottage spacious, cosy, and warm, with comfortable beds and seating. Some noted that certain furniture and mattresses could benefit from updating, and a few mentioned minor issues with heating in the lounge.
The property is well-equipped, with a secure garden, hot tub, and kitchen amenities. Some guests experienced maintenance issues such as a non-functioning oven, worn furniture, and minor plumbing problems, but these were often addressed by the owner.
Many guests appreciated thoughtful touches like welcome packs with milk, cakes, and even dog bowls, as well as the owner's helpfulness. However, as these gifts are not guaranteed for every stay, future guests should not expect them as standard.

We had a really lovely time, we had a few thoughtsThere could be more shelving in the bathrooms and in the showerThere could be towels in each bathroom so you don’t have to take your towel from one bathroom to anotherThere were 3+ piles of dog poo on the grass in enclosed garden we had to pick up when we got there, also on the Saturday night the neighbours in the middle barn were out back drinking until 2.30am making a lot of noise, no consideration at all, and we couldn’t close the window as it was too hot, not a fault of yours we know that but maybe use a curfew, even though you have signs to ask to keep the noise down, they obviously didn’t work, we thought the barn was gorgeous, maybe a tv in the bedrooms, thank you for allowing us to stay in your beautiful barn x

If you are a family then you need to take some board games etc and there is none provided Some of the kitchen equipment needs replacing and it would be nice if things like kitchen foil was included The welcome pack is not as good as previous cottages that we have stayed in, having something local would have been nice rather than apple pies The hot tub is a fantastic option to have which we enjoyed and loved the enclosed garden for the dog

We enjoyed our stay very much cottage was clean and well cared for, location was good near to shops restaurants/pubs . Hot tub was wonderful, garden was excellent with plenty of room for the dog, lots things to see and do locally. Minor problems perhaps larger mirrors in the bathrooms/ bedrooms and maybe a dog walk over the fields. Will definitely book again at some point all in all highly recommended
