About this property

Buck Cottage is a stone-fronted holiday cottage about a mile from Red Wharf Bay on Anglesey. Next to the holiday cottage is a lane lined with bustling hedgerows bursting with the colours of wild flowers during the spring and summer. This traditional holiday cottage is furnished to reflect its history and has plenty of original features including beamed ceilings, an inglenook fireplace, and stone walls.

In the sitting room a sofa and two chairs are set around the gorgeous inglenook fireplace in which sits a wood burning stove. There is also a freeview TV.

The kitchen has old wooden units, a Rayburn and an electric cooker, a fridge and a freezer. There is also a dining table in here with chairs seating up to six people.

The separate dining room is cosy and is an ideal space for informal family meals, equipped with vintage furniture and a coal effect electric log burner, there is space for 6 to sit together here to eat and talk over the days events.

The second sitting room has a table and chairs and doors that open out onto the terrace and offers a quiet space away from the main sitting room. This space offers incredible views towards Red Wharf Bay.

You access the bedrooms via open-tread wooden stairs. On the first floor you will find three bedrooms, two of which are interconnected. You have two double rooms and one room with a 4ft bed.

The bathroom has a shower over the bath and a wash hand basin. The loo is separate to this and has a lovely view!

The garden is purposefully left natural and it has an outlook towards the sea. This is the perfect place to relax with your morning cup of tea or coffee.

Buck Cottage is roughly a miles stroll away from the glorious long, sandy beach of Red Wharf Bay. Walkers will love finding routes from the door and the Anglesey Coastal Path is close by. There are fabulous beaches, places to eat and attractions within driving distance, too.

Along the northeast coast of Anglesey is the very large (4.5 mile-long) bay of Red Wharf Bay; its Welsh name of Traeth Coch (Red Beach) rining true as the area is renowned for its glorious sunsets. The bay is very shallow, and at low tide almost 10 square miles of sand is uncovered to provides safe bathing, perfect for family fun, fishing and miles of stunning, scenic walks. The large bay attracts a huge number of waterfowl and wading birds, including shell duck, grey plover, purple sandpipers, curlew, oystercatchers and dunlin. Only 3 miles away is the delightful medieval town of Beaumaris, which boasts a 13th century moated castle, lovely buildings housing excellent shops, olde-worlde pubs, restaurants, bistros, museums, as well as a golf course and exciting pleasure boat and sea fishing trips. It was damp and very cold and we sat in our coats tbh , it was an extremely cold day as well , my bedroom at front smelt of damp very noticeable tbh , and I had to open window to let air circulate in . The fire was a struggle and didn’t stay lit no matter what we did to it . It would be wonderful in summer and a beautiful home , we stayed 1 night as we were too cold tbh and came home early .

Absolutely surprised at this cottage. Full of original characters and very old. Stunning building with history. The cottage had everything in kitchen and throughout. Bath/ toilet had everything provided. We packed winter clothes but cottage so warm we were in shorts all stay. Log fire is beautiful. We wouldn’t of been warmer if we were in hell but this cottage was heaven. Stunning views of sea and beach 5mins away. Great pub and takeaways near by and fuel station had a general store better than most supermarkets. Parking adequate. Grounds are secure for dogs. Please keep it clean from your dogs as we did. If you want spotless, tidy, modern then go to hell on earth like a travel lodge or premier inn. If you want old and fascinating come to Buck cottage. See you again definitely. Dr Gary & Louise.

We arrived to a warm and cosy cottage that is beautifully finished with an eclectic mix of furniture and gorgeous bedding, cushions and throws. Yes, there are some cobwebs and dust so not for you if you like everything immaculate but we felt able to relax with our 2 dogs and enjoy the amazing view over Red Wharf Bay and the nature on our doorstep. Just the escape we were looking for Thankyou.
