About this property

This much loved family home offers the best of both worlds. You can enjoy the feeling of seclusion and walk from the holiday house to quiet coves, yet you are less than a 5 minute drive to the popular seaside village of Trearddur Bay. You are also a stone’s throw away from the main beaches at Rhoscolyn and The White Eagle, a popular gastro pub.

The spacious and well equipped modern kitchen has underfloor heating, a range cooker, dishwasher, fridge freezer, microwave and toaster. There is a round table with 6 chairs.

The large sitting room has big double aspect windows to make the most of the magnificent views, comfy sofas set around an open fire and a TV. To one side there is a large dining table with seating for 10. There is also a second sitting room/snug with a sofa and TV.

There are 5 bedrooms. On the ground floor there is a twin bedroom and bathroom with bath and shower over, loo and wash hand basin. There is also a loo and wash hand basin by the utility room which houses the washing machine.

A staircase leads from the snug to a double bedroom and a child's bedroom which has a single bed and a gallery bed above. The staircase from the main hall leads to a twin bedroom with it's own balcony overlooking the coast, and the spacious master bedroom with a kingsize bed and ensuite shower room. There is also a seating area where the views are even more amazing.

The stairs from the hall lead to the family bathroom.

There is a lovely garden with direct access to the coastal footpath, and parking for up to 6 cars.

To make your stay at Pant Yr Hyman that much more memorable, you can arrange for supply of a hot tub to help you unwind, relax and enjoy the sunset during your stay (£275 per week, subject to availability). Located on Holy Island, three miles from Trearddur Bay, Rhoscolyn is a small village with a church and primary school and is the most southerly place on Holy Island. Rhoscolyn also offers an excellent pub on the lane down to the beach, which is renowned for its gastro food, and the beach itself with its slipway, ideal for small dinghies and power boats, is a popular family destination throughout the summer owing to the sheltered cove and gently sloping sands. Also excellent cliff-top walks can be enjoyed and an abundance of wildlife can be seen, often including seals on the headland. Just two miles away is the village of Valley, which has a Post Office, chemist, shops and eating places, plus the nearby resort of Trearddur Bay is situated on the western shore of the island and is truly beautiful with a great sweep of low grassy coastline indented with rocky coves and fine Blue Flag sandy beaches. There are shops, pubs and restaurants in Trearddur Bay itself and nearby Holyhead offers a wider range of amenities, including a very good leisure centre, supermarkets, harbour front, a marina, the world’s second longest breakwater and exciting day trips to Dublin on the ferry. Watersports, bathing, sailing, windsurfing and horse riding are the main activities in the summer months, plus golfers will enjoy the excellent Holyhead 18 hole links golf course, and the area is also a great place for nature lovers with renowned birdwatching at the South Stack Lighthouse rspb Reserve. An excellent location with plenty to see and do!

The house is great for a large family with plenty of space for the children and adults alike. It is well kitted out with games, DVDs, books etc. Access is slightly tight as mentioned, but we had three cars and all managed just fine! The location is superb, with stunning sea views and a variety of wildlife on your doorstep (pheasants, rabbits and not to mention lots of sheep!) The bedrooms were all super comfortable, and the kitchen had everything we needed (to be super picky we could have done with a pair of tongs but that is all!) Anna the owner was wonderful, nothing was too much trouble. We had a lovely welcome hamper on arrival too which was very well received! All in all a lovely stay, and would definitely come again.

There is lots of space and enough parking for 3 cars. We enjoyed lighting the gorgeous fire and the kitchen was well equipped. We felt the property needed a bit of a spring clean, it was mostly clean with just a few little things that needed attention. The bedrooms were big and the layout was good although the beds were a little uncomfortable. Remember to take soap for the bathrooms/toilets as there wasn’t any provided. There was a problem with towels having a smell on them but the owner was quick to provide new towels on request. Overall it was a lovely house, it just needs a few little changes to make it perfect.

! The house is exactly as listed and the location is one of the most picturesque locations I have ever been. The contact with the property owner was spot on and every time we had a query it was dealt with in a professional and timely manner. I have no doubt that we will be visiting Pant Yr Hyman again soon.
