About this property

Welsh Valley House is a lovely, semi-detached house resting in the village of Gwaun-Cae-Gurwen, South Wales. Within easy reach of the Bannau Brycheiniog National Park (Brecon Beacons National Park), this welcoming abode is ideal for families, friends or couples hoping to explore the countryside and historic sites that Wales has to offer. There is off-road parking for two cars so you can unpack and get settled in with ease. Inside, be welcomed into the spacious kitchen/diner with a contemporary finish, integrated appliances, and plenty of storage space to keep your home-cooking essentials. Gather your family at the dining table for six with industrial-style lighting and a dark blue feature wall, an elegant space for both casual dinners and special occasions. When it's time to relax, let the washing machine, tumble dryer, and dishwasher do all the hard work, whilst you retire to the sitting room. Two cushioned sofas await with a footrest and TV, or perhaps you'd prefer sending summer evenings in your private, enclosed garden? You'll find outdoor seating to dine al fresco or take a book to the summerhouse for a little peace and quiet; if you've come to cycle, Welsh Valley House features lockable bike storage with a cycle rack. Completing the property, the first floor hosts the family bathroom, finished to a high standard, with bath and shower over to suit all guests. There are also three bedrooms, a king-size, double, and 4' double, each thoughtfully furnished with bedside lamps, storage space, and artwork. The village of Gwaun-Cae-Gurwen is a great base for touring with a convenience store and The Mount Bar and Grill when you fancy a break from the kitchen, whilst being just a stone's throw away from the Brecon Beacons. Pack your walking boots for a range of scenic hill walks and hikes, along with fabulous attractions such as the National Showcaves Centre for Wales and Sgwd Yr Eira Waterfall. Spend the day exploring Llandeilo where you can wander small galleries, stop for lunch at The Angel pub, and explore the National Trust's Dinefwr, home to a 12th-century castle, woods, and ancient church. The market town of Neath is also worth a visit for the ruins of Neath Castle and Abbey, Gnoll Country Park with panoramic views and limestone grottos, and hikes to the top of Mynydd Drumau. A spacious stretch of sand at Aberavon Beach is also close by, so be sure to pack your towels, buckets and spades! Further along you'll find the city of Swansea, Afan Forest Park, and the scenic Gower AONB; there's something for everyone here! Secure your next family adventure in South Wales at Welsh Valley House.

Gwaun-Cae-Gurwen is in Neath Port, South Wales. The community has a convenience shop and pubs/restaurants, but Ammanford has more. Dinefwr Castle, held by the National Trust and located in the Tywi Valley, dates to the 12th century. Bannau Brycheiniog National Park (Brecon Beacons National Park) is a popular tourist destination, and its country pathways offer spectacular vistas. Explore South Wales with your family.

Absolutely everything you could ever need was provided. I loved the quality coffee maker too. My daughters were very happy staying here.

Everywhere was spotlessly clean, and the facilities were excellent. We loved the gazebo at the top of the garden, and chilled out there several times.

The kitchen cupboards were dirty. There was a pair of dirty pants in one of the bedrooms. The door handle was broken to bedroom one. As per my picture it looks like it had been forcefully opened as the barrel was bent it had several repair attempts.
