Cwtch Cowin is a well-received cottage in Carmarthen, praised for its peaceful setting and dog-friendly approach. Hosts Sylvia and Bruce are consistently mentioned for their warm hospitality. The property is noted for its cleanliness, ample garden space, and suitability for disabled guests. While some find the furnishings a bit dated, the overall sentiment is positive, with many guests planning to return.
Reviews frequently highlight the cottage's cleanliness, describing it as 'spotless' and 'clean'. This suggests a high level of maintenance and attention to detail from the hosts.
The location is generally praised for being peaceful and central for exploring local attractions. However, some guests noted the lack of pavements on nearby roads and the distance to the local pub, slightly affecting the score.
Guests find the cottage comfortable, with special mention of disability access. Some guests noted the furniture, particularly the bed and sofa, could be more comfortable, which is reflected in the score.
The facilities are well-regarded, especially for dog owners, with mentions of provided dog beds and bowls. The garden and views are appreciated, though some remarks about dated decor suggest room for improvement.
The hosts' thoughtfulness is evident in their hospitality and provision of dog amenities. While gifts like dog biscuits are mentioned, they are not guaranteed for every guest.

We have had our third visit this year except for weather we had a great time and having fenced in area for our dogs was great with no worries Liz

Very comfortable, clean and most important to us, our 2 dogs were safe in the fully enclosed, fenced garden. A very quiet and peaceful spot to stay. I would definitely recommend a stay in this cottage.

The photographs in the listing presumably were taken with a wide angle lens and make the rooms appear much larger than they actually are, the kitchen/living room is very cramped and the bathroom felt dated. The lane leading to the listing is full of very large potholes and we are just glad of the choice of vehicles for this trip, I would not have liked taking my saloon through that obstacle course. The local pub, the Fox and Hounds was a mixed bag, good meal the first visit, one hour wait for food and an inedible steak the second visit, however locals and staff were extremely friendly. This cottage will be ideal for some, great central location for visits to beaches, Carmarthen and even Brecon Beacons , but we needed something a little larger, maybe a little newer (again our fault) and warning of worn out lane would be helpful.
