This lovely barn in Carmarthenshire is ideal for a family or friends looking for a peaceful location for a holiday or reunion. The property is in 60 acres of beautiful countryside on the edge of the Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons) National Park. Nearby Llandovery (4.5 miles) is a great market town in which to discover the history and legends of the local area. Stop at one of the many inns and tuck into a Drover’s lunch.
This charming two-storey property retains a cottage feel with plenty of exposed wooden beams and wood burners. It has stylish furnishings and decor and all the contemporary creature comforts to ensure a memorable stay. Step into the entrance hall, and to the left, there is a downstairs bedroom with three single beds and an accessible en-suite wet room. To the right, you’ll find the large open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. Relax on the comfortable sofas in the lounge, pop a log on the wood burner, and choose your favourite film to watch on the Smart TV. Dine together in a space with patio doors affording outstanding countryside views. The kitchen area has everything you need to cook up a storm, so even preparing large feasts is a breeze. Upstairs, there is a bathroom and five bedrooms, three doubles, two with en-suite shower rooms and two twins. Outside, the enclosed garden has a lawn and patio area with a garden table and chairs to sit and chat or enjoy the scenery.
Within a short drive from the property, there are many cycling and walking routes, including at Cwm Rhaeadr (6.5 miles). The Brecon Beacons Visitor Centre (22 miles) offers cycling, walking and spectacular mountain views. All ages will love to have a go at panning for gold, so head 15 miles to National Trust Dolaucothi Gold Mines, enjoy the guided tours and learn about the history of gold mining in the area.
