For adventure-filled day’s out, the picturesque Brecon Beacons is considered a natural playground for mountain bikers, ramblers and nature enthusiasts alike. Here you’ll find the glistening Llyn Y Fan Fach dammed lake and learn all about the legend of The Lady of The Lake, as well as the Red Kite Feeding station at Llanddeusant where you can watch the feeding display for Red Kites and buzzards, an unforgettable experience.
The scenic Tywi Valley is just a short drive away and is home to numerous majestic sites dotted along its glistening river, where you’ll find the 12th-century castles of Carreg Cennen and Dryslwyn and the enchanting gardens and nature reserve of Dinefwr Castle and Par. The elegant market town of Llandelio can also found here, providing a wealth of eclectic gifts shops, highly acclaimed restaurants and traditional Welsh pubs, with fine ales and fresh local produce always on the menu! The most beautiful place to stay! The situation of this property is stunning. It is nestled amongst farmland and gorgeous hills and offers panoramic views of the countryside complete with a ridiculous amount of wildlife including foxes, bats and birds of prey. The house itself is spectacular but manages to feel cosy and welcoming at the same time. Small touches like blankets in every room, sympathetic decor and beautiful floors throughout whether they’re wood or tile, combine to make this property feel like a hotel that is also a home from home. I normally bring lots of kitchen equipment with me but I needn’t have brought anything as the kitchen is so well stocked but also has lots of cupboard space for your own food something that isn’t always thought of. Cathrin could not have been more helpful! She was not only at the end of the phone should we need her help in any way but we were able to occasionally wave to her as she worked on her farm, the sheep of which made the most charming neighbours. My family and I are already looking at when we can book again. I highly recommend this property to anyone wanting peace, rural beauty, high end finish that still feels cosy and the most warm of welcomes.

We had a fabulous time at Maes Y Bryn Farmhouse. The house was very well equipped and had everything we needed. The views were exceptional, so much better than the photos shown on the website, especially from the kitchen. The whole family loved the games room. The house was clean throughout and finished to a high standard. The location was good and the nearest towns were only a short drive away. We really loved Llandeilo, full of nice shops and cafés. Cathryn was lovely and always quick to answer any questions I had.We definitely hope to come back!

We absolutely loved our week at Maes Y Bryn Farmhouse. Cathrin and her family have created a beautiful property, with everything you could need. There’s so much space, the decor is perfect, the kitchen is SO well equipped and the games room is such a brilliant extra (and so much bigger than it looks on the pics). We thought the house looked great from the photos but it was so stunning in real life. A beautiful house, in a beautiful setting, cared for by a beautiful family !
