Head to the bustling village of St Dogmaels for your selection of amenities, where you will find the delightsome White Hart Community Inn, The Coach House café, a fish and chip shop, and a well-stocked convenience store for picking up ingredients. The budding historians in your party can check out the fascinating 12th-century St Dogmaels Abbey or the popular Y Felin, one of the only two working watermills in Wales. Immerse yourself in local life on Tuesdays where you can take advantage of the award-winning local market, selling fresh produce and ingredients followed by a walk along the Afon Teifi, what could be better? If you’re up to the challenge, the scenic 186-mile Pembrokeshire Coast starts in the village and ends at Amroth, offering the very best views and scenery along the way.
From here you can spend a day on the glorious sands of Poppit Sands Beach, backed by sand dunes and home to a lovely café. Next stop is the historic town of Cardigan, where you can soak up the delights of the 12th-century riverside castle, the splendid Cardigan Guildhall Market and the breath-taking Cardigan Bay where you can embark on a boat trip to spot the local wildlife of dolphins. Add a touch of character to your Pembrokeshire getaway with a stay at Y Felin.
Old and calm St Dogmaels sits at the mouth of the Teifi River on the wild west Wales coast, a stone's throw from the ruins of its monastery.
One of its main attractions is Y Felin, one of only two working watermills in Wales, which was constructed in 1820 and still uses the original machinery. The mill is believed to have been built by the monks of St Dogmaels' Abbey in the 12th-century. For a light lunch or a cup of tea with a slice of cake in the Coach House Café just a short walk away is a demonstration of how the mill works. Every Tuesday, there is an award-winning local produce market that is definitely worth a visit.

The cottage is so comfortable and cosy, the village is lovely and quiet. Super dog friendly with a great and secure garden at the back, my dogs were very happy here. The Pembrokeshire coastline is beautiful and the location of the cottage is perfect for visiting the stunning beaches. Would highly recommend, especially if your pooches are coming along too.
