This gate was put up during our stay as we have a dog, and I couldn't agree more with the review. This property quite obviously does not have a deep clean after each visit. On arrival I removed 14 dead flies from the lounge windowsill. There were huge cobwebs with dead flies in every window. I have sent photographic evidence to sykes. There were 4 smelly old towels for use, one was covered in mould, again photos have been sent to sykes, thank goodness I took my own. The gazebo is incomplete and an eyesore. I note this has been the case since April looking at past reviews. The grass as stated in the other review is not cut. We had to get the owner to remove the dog poo left by their dog before our arrival. The shower cubicle left a lot to be desired as far as cleanliness is concerned. The mugs on the mug tree were stained. The floor was filthy, the list goes on. As I have said I have sent photographic evidence to sykes and complained about the property. All sykes have done is asked the owners to comment and they are unwilling to provide any. On arrival my heart sank walking into the property, and had we not been so desperate for a holiday I would have turned round and gone home, but we stayed and made the best of it. Owners are friendly enough. They have apparently only had this property for a year, such a shame they don't prioritise maintaining it.

! But the listing is In accurate as the play area & hot tub in the pictures is not in this cottages garden itâs a picture of the other cottage. The hot tub for this cottage is at the end of the garden under an incomplete shelter and grass all around so when you get out you have nowhere to dry and get grass on your feet when you walk back. When we arrived we were just told the keys are in the door and where to park and thatâs it which is fine. The weather was not great so the outside got dirty and muddy with chicken poo and there was no floor mat to wipe your shoes on inside. I donât wear my shoes inside as you never know what you have stood in! So I removed my shoes and my childrenâs shoes and wiped the dogs paws but soon realised this was a mistake as this place has not seen a hoover or a mop for a very long time, the hoover made a ridiculously loud noise so didnât use that so I had to sweep the whole downstairs, but even then had to wear something on our feet as our feet were brown after a few minutes walking around. The dishwasher was full of dirty dishes so I texted the owner who sent her daughter round with tablets to do the dishwasher??!! I donât own a dishwasher so had to work that out but i was not about to empty it too. The bedrooms were cleanish apart form cobwebs in almost every corner and a used tablet pack on the floor behind the bin. The bathroom was ok but could use a demountable shower head to wash the toddler but we managed. The shower screen had lots of soap scum around the base but again cleaned this before we used it. The rear garden is not secure to let the dogs off one gate is made of pallets and the other is wonky and a medium/small dog will get through. If your dog like chasing anything then this place may not be for you as the ducks and chickens are running around which the kids loved but the dogs were going crazy which just added to the stress. The owner has two dogs which sometimes run loose and another woman comes and walks her dogs in the field next to the cottage and past the cottage to the next field so again if your dog is not happy with other dogs this probably wonât help. Inside again we found the tvs in the bedrooms didnât work (had to retune the main room tv) The downstairs tv was very temperamental but again we managed. On the upside the views from the living room was amazing. The games room advertised is no good so donât rely on this to keep the kids occupied as every is either broken or missing parts. This place has so much potential but the biggest downside to me was the cleanliness as with children they put their hands on the floor and the next thing theyâre in their mouth! If you have OCD of have any degree of being clean then this place is not the place for you, just because we have dogs does not make us dirty people or like dirty places. The lady on site is very friendly and gave us some eggs from the chickens which were lovely. Sorry to leave a review like this but I hope you take note of it as it really could be one of the best itâs such a beautiful place.
