About this property

Idyllically positioned on the Gower Peninsula in south west Wales, rests this charming end of terrace holiday cottage, Hillcrest. Framing spectacular coast and countryside views, whilst enjoying close proximity to a wonderful selection of amenities and attractions, Hillcrest makes the perfect base for an adventure to south west Wales. Step inside and discard your shoes and coats as you enter into the handy porchway, before making your way through to the snug sitting room, where you can look forward to putting your feet up with a cup of tea as your favourite film plays on the TV. When stomachs start to rumble, move through the property to the well-equipped kitchen, where the designated chef can rustle up delectable dishes utilising the electric oven and hob, whilst the handy washing machine is perfect for freshening up any sandy holiday attire! On sunny days, take a glass of wine and soak in the peaceful greenery surrounding your new home-from-home. At the end of a long day spent exploring the coast and country, pour in the bubbles and unwind with a soak in the bath before snuggling up under the covers of one of three bedrooms, one double and two single rooms (one of which has a small double bed). Take advantage of your close proximity to the coast and head to Oxwich Bay beach to spend a lazy afternoon lounging amongst the golden sands, or thrill seekers can tackle the waves with a spot of jet skiing or kayaking with expert tuition available. After working up an appetite, head to the elegant Beach House Restaurant to indulge in a spot of fine dining, or for a more relaxed affair, savour fresh fish and chips from Oxwich Beach Café and a stroll along the coast. Lace up your walking boots and embark on a two-footed adventure through the varying landscapes of the Gower AONB, with its woodlands, secluded coves and historical landmarks waiting to be explored. For more coastal adventures, jump in the car and take a scenic drive to the pretty village of Mumbles, home to a Grade II listed Victorian pier, a lighthouse dating back to 1794 and the regal ruins of Oystermouth Castle. With all of this and more, choose Hillcrest as your base for a memorable holiday.

Port Eynon is a village in the county Swansea, in Wales, settled on the south-west of the Gower Peninsula. Home to two fish and chip shops, a gift shop, a traditional pub, a coffee shop, and a restaurant, visitors need not look any further than Port Eynon. ), key collection was easy too, no pressure to arrive by a certain time. The house was very comfortable, clean and well equipped. There was plenty of information around about the various pieces of equipment and how they worked, except for the TV which rather foxed us! We had a twenty-month old with us for part of the time, a stairgate, nightlight and travel cot were very kindly provided for us by the owners (thankyou so much). We did a 'reccy' to protect breakables from our active toddler, and hopefully put everything back where it should be, the last half-hour before leaving is always a bit of rush, so apologies if it wasn't quite right! The beach and footpaths are well within walking distance but there are some steep hills! The beach at Oxwich is particularly child friendly as it is flat, with cafes and toilet facilities, also a large carpark. Communication with Sykes and the owners could not have been easier, we didn't have any problems while we there but it was clear that the owners would be available to help. Would happily recommend Hillside to other guests.

Some rooms had been updated, which were really good, but others had quite a tired feel to them. The overall cleanliness was a little lacking with dust and very old cobwebs in some areas.
